Me: Playing a chess match, thinking I made no mistakes and no blunders Stockfish: You made 20 blunders and 34 mistakes Edit:Omg I did not think I would get this many likes. Thank You :)
The problem with stockfish (well, aside from the fact that it *exists* in the first place) is that it's hard to differentiate a "you hung your queen" blunder from a "you missed a mate in 439" blunder.

I love how I can tell I'm actually getting better at chess by watching these videos. The moves that Gotham refers to as bizarre top engine moves are literally the first things I think about. Thanks Gotham for helping me get better whether it be opening videos or just talking tactics.
That was a nice mate. I recognize my own blunders here: first, missing a free piece because you are following a prior plan of attack, and then forgetting your prior plan of deflection/promotion because your secondary plan (connected passed pawns) was attacked. It slips your mind that the secondary plan was itself a deflection. It's very difficult to keep various lines of attack present and organized in your mind so as to see their intersection and the weak points within the position. Once you start weaving these plans together, you will find the beauty in complexity, or, in other words, become a conspiracy theorist. It is important to note that, while your opponent may not actually be conspiring at the same level, it is safest to assume it is so, and so protect yourself.

This game it´s not so bad. Similar to my attacking games. I feel proud of my game, I turn on the analysis, 5 inaccuracies, 3 mistakes, 2 blunders, one opportunity lost
Edit: upon further inspection, I saw the king could go to F7. Though forcing him out like that seems like a very good idea nonetheless, for instance QG6 check. King’s only legal move is E7. Since I’m not that good at chess I can’t find very many moves after that, but I see it could possibly be beneficial. During the endgame, where Black’s king was stuck in the top right corner of the board, I noticed QH7. Obviously, in an actual match i was playing I wouldn’t have a hope in hell without taking at least 1 minute to eventually find it. But, then I noticed that stockfish didn’t register that as a mate in one. And I’m very confused why. Because, QH7 is defended by the bishop in D3, if the queen were to move to H7, there are no pieces or moved to remove check, therefore making checkmate. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think that’s actually counted as a great/brilliant move if the engine itself doesn’t see it. But if it isn’t then I know nothing about chess.
You may agree or not but this game was really a level above 900. The moves they played( especially white ) to allow the pawns to be pushed is appreciable. They were playing like 1300-1400.
