Much respect to Luda. Started off as a radio host and rapper, then became a street racer, computer hacker, and astronaut. That is very impressive.

The southern movement in hip hop was something special in the early 2000s they knocked down the wall and came through hard unapologetically country, and this coming from a New York City guy.
Being a Florida guy, I can say southern Rap/Hip-Hop really revolutionized the game in the early 2000's. This made a lot of northern rappers change up their traditional rap styles and go to a more commercial style of Hip-Hop/Rap where they still have that up north flavor but it appealed to a wider audience. Rap and Hip-Hop in the early 2000's was truly a movement more then than any other time. Then you couple that with Caribbean artists collaborating with these artists, and it was just a crazy marriage in the music world. You had so many styles and different sounds.
People say Young Thug and Future are kings of the ATL. But they don’t know about Luda, Jeezy, and TI
Gucci and OutKast too*
And shawty lo ...
Outkast the best ever from ATL!

Can we just take a moment to appreciate that he spent the extra money to film this on a high quality camera. So many videos on UA-cam from even ten years ago look like they were filmed with a potato.

And I’m fucking sure had it happened when those 2 were in the game, some people would say he’s the GOAT instead of saying he’s one of the GOAT. Btw back in the day the hottest rapper that wasn’t Eminem was 50 Cent and M and Dr. Dre were pretty much the ones that turned him from a hard battler that was loosing to Ja, Murder Inc and the Supreme clique to the #1 in the game (save for Eminem himself) until Lil Wayne, Whiz Khalifa and Snoop were taking over again, to later give the room to Drake, Kanye (who was already relevant) and the talentless bunch of SoundCloud mumblerappers

This is a light hearted, comedic, rap song....what made you say Afro-American struggle?🤔
Ludacris in his early days was the full package man and a staple to the music of my childhood. Had the best videos, good lyrics, best energy, overall GOAT of the early 2000s in my opinion if you really think about everyone else they were really only great in one aspect some maybe more than just one but not as well rounded as him in my opinion. Loved jay z at that time too but early 2000s for him was already onto the blueprint 2 and the black album and only really enjoyed listening to his albums to chill. (Not taking anything away from jay z his work in the 90s was some of my fav.) but ludacris always got me hyped up and his videos were always something else and entertaining as hell only one who held a candle to him in that regard might have been busta.
