The official 2019 demo (and by that the first) of my sound set for the KORG KROSS 2. As with all of my sound clips each sound was recorded separately in PROG or COMBI mode. In all demo clips additional reverb was used as the KROSS 2 doesn't allow Delay and Reverb at the same time, so I mainly used Delay in my patches to add reverb externally.
All clips are composed by me unless something else is written in the bottom left corner.

JayB you are a synth seller. You should get your own Kross2 color. And a deal with Korg/Yamaha or whoever to design sound banks.
It's not like I haven't tried... but so far only "smaller" companies were interested.

I agree that korg should sign you because this sounds are work of art maybe is easy for you to make them but for me its very hard and i own a korg m3 a triton and a kronos 2 and its very hard time consuming and still havent learn how to make sounds like this. Thanks for what you do for the kross owners maybe one day you can make for the kronos 2

I recently heard the new combi's from the Krome Ex and now this video is recommended to me.
Korg did a total overhaul on EDS sound engine everything much tighter and clear. Guess have to say goodbye to my MW1 microworkstation.

The sound design god strikes again! I was *wondering* just how far you'd be able to push the Kross - these sounds are so wonderfully usable! (Oh, and I really see what you meant about the drum samples being so much newer now...hehehe)

Ironically I never really used the sequencer other than importing Midi files and playing them back. X3 As for the effects I might do something...

You can multitrack in both Combi and Seq mode. I'd prefer Combi when working with an external sequencer as it's easier to manage and store.

@@maciejlegowicz5834 Add compressors and eq to the tracks, get a couple of buses with master dynamics effect, and you will get the same level of mastering. But yea, of course it is not "raw" kross 2 sound. If you want premastered sound, get something like montage. Nevertheless, JayB is the best hardware trance artist who shares his work.
I came here from a couple of Kronos demos and they were like "meh", There again I recall JayB making great music on a Yamaha Qy series.
Is this all sequenced or played live? I have a Korg Radias bought because it is such fun to play around with live.
I don't have the Kross, but I still heard the whole demo, because the sounds were great and the tunes high quality! Can you make the same Set for King Korg ?

Thank you JayB for your generous contribution to those who have this KK2. I saw your page, did you take it? because I really liked it aesthetically and the distribution of the content. There I mess with that if I wanted to open the content of the icon with the right button to see on another page, it was not possible, but if you click normally on the icon the info is displayed, which because it contains few lines, is unnecessary and does not merit showing it on another page. And of course whenever I listen to your music I enjoy it as everyone I guess those who come into contact with your channel. Just for 2 days I am trying to create sounds for my KK2, using the Extreme Converter and the Awave, but in the first attempts the keys of the pianos that interested me were poorly mapped, today I chose to mark all the white notes in the EC and if now it maps OK, but the file .KSC ends up being about 50Mb. If you have any advice or guide that you can contribute, I will be grateful. Greetings.

Dort habe ich mich damit herumgeschlagen, wenn ich den Inhalt des Symbols mit der rechten Schaltfläche öffnen wollte, um es auf einer anderen Seite zu sehen, es war nicht möglich, aber wenn Sie normal auf das Symbol klicken, wird die Info angezeigt, was, weil es wenige Zeilen enthält, unnötig ist und es nicht verdient, es auf einer anderen Seite anzuzeigen. Und natürlich, wann immer ich deine Musik höre, genieße ich sie wie jeder, den ich schätze, diejenigen, die mit deinem Kanal in Kontakt kommen. Nur für 2 Tage versuche ich, Sounds für meinen KK2 zu erstellen, mit dem Extreme Converter und dem Awave, aber in den ersten Versuchen waren die Tasten der Klaviere, die mich interessierten, schlecht zugeordnet, heute habe ich mich entschieden, alle weißen Noten im EC zu markieren und wenn es jetzt ok ist, aber die Datei .KSC endet mit etwa 50Mb. Wenn Sie einen Rat oder Leitfaden haben, den Sie beitragen können, werde ich dankbar sein. Grüße

Hi, is it possible to create your own Auto Accompaniment Styles including drum programming in Korg Kross 2?
OBS: Idea is, create my own drum rhythms and save them as patterns and add them to the existing list.
If this is possible, please make a video teaching.

Hi! No. This ist not possible. You could combine drum sequencer and two arps but it wouldn't make a full accompaniment.

Jay, I have just purchased a Kross 2, is what im listening to here all coming from the kross 2? no other instruments being used ? and all mixed within the Korg ?
As stated in the video description each sound was recorded separately and mixed with drums from software. If you want to hear pure Kross 2 sound check out my videos for Tonitrus, Ice Breaker or the In This Place remake.

Both actually depending on what I was in the mood for. But I think most of the work was done in the editor.
Question: Do i get play those presets together in live performance?
If you're ready to take compromises when it comes to insert effects you can indeed use them in live performances. I have a few videos with the Kross in multi-timbral mode, for both combinations and sequencer mode, and they almost exclusively use these sounds.
I noticed that there is only one download available for Korg Kross 2(so are all of the sounds from all of your videos contained within that one download?)
Yes, there are no additional samples needed. However, for the next updates you will need the sample upgrades from the Neon Kross in models. But I will provide them.

The Neon Kross 2 is an absolute visual atrocity(I ordered the black matte version of the Kross 2 :~} ) Your sound designs are among the best I've ever heard(& I've been a synth enthusiast for 35 years!) For the life of me, I cannot fathom why Korg has not hired you on(as you are very talented!)
So when you add these does it add to the user preset or overwrite all the existing sounds.
Wayne Thompson Yes, it replaces the entire Bank A and Combinations. However, you can restore the factory presets at any time from the GLOBAL menu.
Hi JayB . I would have one question. Is it possible to select reverb and delay separately in the sequencer?
I found reverb and delay only in MFX 2. All IFX and MFX 1 is without this effect. it is illogical.
That's one of the limitations of the Kross 2. No reverb and delay simultaneously.

@@JayBmusic You could have a short delay on MFX 1 (S69 Multitap Cho / Delay) and a reverb on MFX2 but it is very restrictive...
How big is the download? Will it fit on the Sweetwater 2gb bonus card? (guessing yes)
It's only a few kybte or something. There are no samples, just parameter data.

All the sounds except some of the drums are coming from the KROSS. However, they were recorded separately each in Prog or Combi mode.

@@cyrilchamp-rigot1092 Check out Tonitrus Kross Rework and my rebuilt of "in this place" on the Kross. They both feature original Kross drums.
I bought Kross 1 about 6 years ago and knows nothing on how to do it's programming and just play it as it is.....my gosh i was an idiot back then as i am now when it comes to my own instrument 😭😭😭

If you follow tutorials for Spire, Sylenth1, and similar VSTs, you can dupe most sounds for them in the FA. Remember that these are all subtractive synths and work alike. The "PCM engine" is better suited to most trance sounds on the FA, but the virtual analogue "SNS engine" is really great for bass and simpler leads, and a requirement for supersaw pads (you'll get JP8000-style supersaws).

Yes, it was sequenced in Logic Pro X.
Man, that tones works with Korg Kross 1?
You can copy them in parameter by parameter, but the order of sound samples in the wave banks are different. Same names, but different order. Some samples are not as clean and Kross1 just doesn't sound as good as the Kross2. Kross2 is optimized in both circuitry and likely software (as one visible example is the USB Audio of the Kross2, despite both keyboards running the same ARM SoC).

You can do same trance sounds whith analog sounds. I tried and it's great))
@@Moon-kr1pw You can do these kinds of sounds with pretty much any rom-based or virtual analog synth today. And I have several of both. If you want Roland, check out the set I did for the V-Synth.

Inspiring, of course little bit thin sound of mixing like flatty.
I think if you had more low end in trance, you'd end up with a mud-fest. Only thing that needs low end is bass and maybe a couple other things.

In this demo everything is sequenced externally, means in the computer. However, I used preset and customs apreggiators within the Progs and Combis.
