All those buses....and no one on them! I guess the introduction of the tram affected some of the bus routes, causing them to either cease altogether, or merge with other routes where they could. It certainly looks like a different world back in 2000!
London Transport buses had black & white reg plates from new until the last Metrobus was delivered M1440 which i think was C440 BUV. The Olympians were the first to have the regulation plates, LT had an exemption from having them until then.
Yes, they used the old LT tram liverey and numbering system. THe highest numbered tram back in 1952 was 2529, hence the first Croydon one being 2530, carrying the numbering sequence although admittidly with a 50 year gap!......

Around 2009 replacing a red colour of trams with green, white, and blue colours
Ahh nostalgia 😌
I think the year 2000 was when the new trams had launched, I vaguely remember when they were building the tracks
Yes, they did indeed start in 2000. Happily London lost, and regained it's trams in the 20th Century, just!
Excellent video Soi, keep em coming!! 💯
As usual, there is lots more to come!
Soi Buakhao fantastic news. Love your vids from yesteryear 💯
So did route 75 go to Croydon when the 54 use to go to Croydon back in 2000
Yes, i used to ride the 75s when it worked by DMS class buses, all the way from Woolwich to West Croydon........
The 54 was cut back to Elmers End when the trams arrived, even now 22 years later it’s still controversial and a much missed link
Lots of graffiti back then! Better than scratching the windows I guess.
10:17 - how has that bus still got the LBL South London on it?
One that slipped through the net!
Any reason some of the buses have black reg plates?
