- Time for part 6 already of our Koi breeding project. This time we can actually start feeding for the first time! It it time to give our 24 to 48 old Koi fry some egg yolt! And we are also preparing daphnia in the fry pond to make sure the Koi have some natural food to eat from.
During this breeding project I will share my experience with you how we breed Koi with a set of parent koi. We will guide you through all the steps we take, show you some failures as well with of course the idea to share knowledge with you.
In our last video we have shown you how our eggs have developed from 0 to 76 hours, until some of them actually have hatched. We saw close-up footage of the Koi eggs during 12, 24, 36 hours and so on. This time we will start with some actual feeding of our Koi fry!

Another great video. Good to see how others are raising their fry.
Thank you, nice to hear!
i wish i could do that soon, great documentation and thank you soo much for sharing ❤
I'm sure you will be able to do it as well! Good luck!
Fantastic job
Thank you! Cheers!
Would you recommend giving them green water as a food source as well as other stuff?
TYFS 😊
Glad you are enjoying it!
If you use that fine mesh screen over the intake with a small carbon filter will that cut down on the need for multiple water changes?
How are you changing the water? Just taking some out and putting new water or using a filtration i would love to know because everytime my koi lay a lot of eggs but i can survive only very few of them
Dear Sir, would you please tell us what kind of plant you have in the pond... it looks strange, but i like to have it in my pond, too.
Did you say that you feed them egg yolk and water?
Did you move the kohi fry from the inside pool to the outside pool or is it a different spawning?
I moved them ehen the eggs were not hatched yet. Its from the same spawning
As we know Aragoke has only couple of big scales.
What do you expect What are they...?
Mix of Sanke and doitsu sanke or some ginrin?
Mvg
To be honest: I really have no clue 😅. Let's see what we end up with!
It is not really a 'combination' to be honest. Just trying out what will happen.
Hope for the best...
Wish you at least 100 good quality Sanke after the final culling.👍
Lets see what we will get!
What are you doing with your small koi's, do you sell some of them?? 😉❤❤❤🔥
Give away a lot of them is probably the only option. Don't have space for so many Koi!
@@Aboutkoi how far from the German border are you located? I'm from northern Germany🇩🇪 HB. I would love to see what you've "created" 😉💯✊🏼❤❤
Didnt realize the water needs for breeding, a lot of labor
Fresh tap water or pond water
Fresh tap water i would suggest. As long as it is free from chlorine
