Royal Enfield are on a massive roll at the moment. Not a duff bike in the range and the new Goan and 650 classic are excellent. And they’re affordable, BMW, Honda etc al take note.
Maybe I am in the minority but I am getting a little tired of Royal Enfield pumping out new models of bikes using the same 350,450 and 650cc engines. They are launching new models faster than I go through my underwear. Makes every new model lose a little bit of it’s novelty very quick imo. Feels like they don’t have much of a risk appetite and like playing it safe(if it ain’t broke don’t fix it I guess?), probably for the better, what do I know?
Bmw Honda and the rest can't compete unless they take the manufacturing to india china whatever. I don't wish to see that. But I'd like to see more 200-300cc motorcycles. Maybe a Monkey 200cc? Over here teens can ride 50cc and 125cc. So the insurance is prohibitively expensive. Couple years and you have paid the bike twice in insurance costs. It is way more affordable to have something with limited power but still you need a full motorcycle license.
Never had I thought I would see a Goan Enfield. Coming from goa with royal Enfield heritage from my dad owning a 97 machismo RE to mine 650 interceptor. It’s a legend for most of us Goans and Indians. Thank you Darcy for your content and showing the wildness and beautiful India 🇮🇳
Glad you got to see the new Goan Classic in the metal. That "Trip Teal" scheme is definitely the most eye-catching and I think perfectly illustrates the sense of fun that RE are bringing to their bikes. An element that some of the more mainstream manufacturers seem to have overlooked in recent years.
I kept trying to remember your face (guy with brown beard) suddenly i remember seeing u riding the continental GT 650 in UK countryside. An old couple approached u asking abt the bike. n u said its a old classic motorcycle but a new bike. Welcome to india. Royal Enfield in india is a childhood dream for every millennial kid here. Me too own the Himalayan 411 CC 2021 model and I am keeping for years to come so that even my kids can ride it 50 years later and enjoy the legacy (If its missing in future) thats the mindsent why people buy Royal Enfield in india ( The logo says - Made Like a Gun ) Keep making videos in india and Indian viewers will make sure u never leave this country ! :-)
Fascinating adventure. I'm out for words. The new Royal Enfield Classic 650 is in a league of its own, stunning looks. Can't wait for the next video. Cheers.
Great video! Beautiful new Royal Enfields. Have a brilliant trip around South India" Darcy's dad is really burning. A little unsolicited advice from another old man who's lived in the tropics for 35 years...Wear a hat. Use a stronger sun block and drink lots and lots of water. Get into the shade more often if possible. Avoid walking in the midday sun...I think you're in danger of getting sunstroke. I hope I'm not appearing negative. Looking forward to the rest of your trip. As a PS...You may recall I ordered a Honda CB 350 Highness, made in India....( I live in Taiwan ). Well it finally arrived and I'm loving riding it Brand new for 3,000 pounds...Amazing value for money.
@@MrDarcy-OlMan I don' blame you. If I was there under that sun I would probably be lighting up like a Chinese lantern. I do think you went up a shade or two while eating that biryani!

The Goan 350 classic is stunning, I love it. Unfortunately I reckon I would look like a yeti riding it, I’m too tall. I wonder if the 650 classic with mini ape-hangers would produce a similar aesthetic
You should go to an old Royal Enfield workshop. You can definitely see some pre 70s models there. And I'm sure the mechanics will be happy to show around.
Classic owner here, I'm hoping there will be kits available to convert to the mini ape handlebars with extended cables and wiring harness. I have mini apes on my Scout Bobber and love them.
Great video….RE seems to be going psychedelic with their paint schemes these days!…..no wonder they called it the Goan Classic! Waiting for your review of the Classic 650.
If anyone travels to India or tries Indian food for the first time, there's a chance you might experience stomach upset. About 90% of the time, it has nothing to do with hygiene or bad food, but rather the spicy masalas. Coriander powder and Garam masala, in particular, can irritate your stomach. As an Indian, I never had problems growing up eating Indian food. However, after moving to the US and rarely getting the chance to eat Indian food, my tolerance changed. During my studies here, I didn't have the time or money to cook or buy Indian food, so for almost five years, I rarely ate it. After starting to cook Indian food again, I found that my stomach wasn't taking it well. Now, whenever I cook Indian food, it's normal for me to experience stomach upset for two days. However, if I eat it for few days, I'm fine. After doing some research, I discovered that it's the spices that cause the irritation.
I'm sure you are aware of this but there is another biking event this weekend IBW. A must visit too! Also breakfast recommendation Mango Shade Cafe in Anjuna is a must. Cheers 👍
Wow this video is awesome, you captured the festival and India like we are actually there with you 💯 I can't stop watching it. Love the new bikes they are gorgeous styles and colours ❤ and as for that cow I think he wants to come home with you 😊
I have ridden with Vintage Rides twice, and they have been brilliant. The second time was in Aug this year in Himachal Pradesh going through Spiti Valley. My son and I each rode Bullet 500s. I really hope you had a good trip with Vintage Rides, and enjoyed riding through India as much as we do.
Technological advancements are essential and should be appreciated, but they often strip away the artistic and sentimental value of products. This is evident in the recent changes to Royal Enfield motorcycles. The kick-starter, once a defining feature, provided not just functionality but a nostalgic charm that connected riders to their bikes. With its removal, something intangible but significant has been lost. While progress is important, it can also lead to a kind of perversion of tradition. For me, without the kick-starter, Royal Enfield feels incomplete. I hope the company revisits this aspect of their legacy.

I know your into cars Darcy and i see Porsche are about to start putting engines in the Tycan now as 1 they dont sell and those who bought have lost 70k in a year. The future in my eyes is combustion only 😂 I’m glad you said flip flops old man and not crocks 😂 Can’t beat a good curry 😋 Looking forward to the next one guys thanks Nick
All of those RE's look fantastic. The Goan 350 is outstanding among them, but as you said, I'd like to see a Goan 650 as well. I wish we had such a vibrant motorcycle culture out west, though maybe without the Indian road manners. I've grown very comfortable with our painted lanes and traffic lights.
Apparently RE had plans to release these models with proper spacing in between but the whole lockdown fiasco screwed up their plans. So this is their way of catching up about 3 years worth of releases.
On the subject of the RE electric bike, wouldn't you be interested in a Maeving, Darcy? The RE with the cross-spoke wheels was stunning. Have you been in a gym over there, boys? Lovely hotel. Nick
