Brother Kenny, just picked up my HumminGuru yesterday and cleaned 6 albums today. Played 'Travels' by Pat Metheny and the Rice Krispy noises were gone! Wow! I'm impressed! I set mine for 5 minutes of cleaning and 5 minutes of drying as well. I even let it rest for thirty minutes after an hour of running, like the manual recommends. Thanks for going through your cleaning process!

Love it. Keeping it simple, and doing it right. Microfiber cloth and distilled water are the way to go. Thank you for sharing.

I’ve watched a few of your videos, I don’t share the same musical tastes as yourself but as a fellow audiophile and music lover you seem like a straightforward down to earth guy. I like your style man and you’re right cleaning your own records to your own satisfaction is all that matters. Your methods look good to me.

Man, the microfiber cloth did a yeoman's job by itself. Love the collection of Impulse! albums. 25 years ago I stupidly sold a lot of mine. I'm rebuying some of them now. Stupid me.

I have sold some things in the past that I deeply regret to this day, I guess that is part of life 😊...its great that you are buying more and back into the hobby of listening to music. Thank you very much for watching my video and your comments 😊 ✌️

Great video brother! Thanks for showing the VC just how important it is to keep your vinyl clean! Love your record collection behind you. I thought i had a lot, and I'm collecting Medicare, lol! If you're ever in SoCal, would love to talk to you about music! I would even come and visit in your neck of the woods, God bless you, and thanks again for the great video!

I am skeptical of ultrasonic cleaning machines. Not too long ago I purchased a "Audiophile " record. Had numerous clicks& pops (very disappointing !) I use a two step cleaning process starting w/ a spin clean record washer to get the bulk of the dirt off followed by a vacuum cleaning machine. Sounded better but still a couple of clicks & pops. I took the record to a recent vinyl show where a vendor had a Humminguru machine to clean records for $10 a record . I had him clean the record at the longest cycle. Took the record home to give it a listen... Clicks & pops! so much for ultrasonic cleaning machines. Not any better than vacuum machines.

you probably have the cleanest record in the world but cleaning will not restore groove damage or pressing faults.

Mr. Clean!! Love what you shared about your process especially sticking with distilled water. Any agent you add may either harm the vinyl or leave some residue to potentially harm the vinyl later. Keep up the good work!!

That is my concern about using cleaning agents, the potential harm that they can do. Thank you very much and I appreciate your comments ✌️

Well, this is my first time viewing a vinyl record being cleaned. When my uncle came back from service,I remember he had a big stack of albums. This would have been in the early 80's when I was still very young. I remember people in those days had all kinds of different methods of taken care of vinyl. I even remember people had some kind of thing they used to do where they would use coins to take scratches out of albums. It's kind of faint in my mind, but I loved that time period, and it stuck with me as playing a very impactful part of my listening habits. I would say even without the internet, that time period was a lot more exiting, musically, than now, albeit we now have more accessibility to the entertainment world, in my opinion. Stange, isn't it?

Distilled water alone will not remove micro dust unfortunately, you need a semi alcoholic agent such as Vinyl Shelter and a wet goat hair brush to remove invisible dust, worked for me for years and doesn't use electicity (-:

Great video Kenny! My cleaning process is using the VPI 16.5 cleaner. The chemicals I use are Mobile Fidelity super record wash and super deep clean for grungy records. I use the mobile fidelity cleaning brush to scrub the solution into the grooves. Then I use the vacuum to lift the solution from the record. Before playing I use Number 9 stylus cleaner on the stylus before side 1 play. Afterwards, I use stylus brush to clean the stylus and wipe side 2 with an anti static brush. After playback the record goes into an anti static sleeve. The record goes into the jacket lined with a poly sleeve.
I’ve noticed some users/collectors place the record behind the cover in the poly sleeve. This to me invites trouble. I always say to myself. I’ve played records over 50 years why would I want to store the record this way? You can’t read the back cover of the album! Thanks for reading.

Kenny, I watch your channel (and have for a very long time) because you keep it 'real' and your topics are always interesting. I love your comment that you are not entering your records in a record cleaning contest and you clean to your standards and your satisfaction. That us what this hobby is all about. Enjoying the music and the joy of everything associated with collecting music. Thanks Kenny for your unbiased and nonjudgemental views. I look forward to each of your videos.

Enjoy your everyman videos Kenny. We're same age and similar tastes. Also you too seem to stay fit in your 60's. I use my old spin doctor with distilled water to rinse my records before I use the Humming Guru, which is the one essential piece for any vinyl collector. I hope younger people watch your videos. They might not understand this, but I collect KTel and Ronco records. I put 6 on my stacker (a DD Technics) and Marantz 2265b with small Advents,. It's like listening to radio back in the 70's. Not hifi, MyFi! The guru cleans these well loved records one or sometimes two cleanings. I do use a vacuum for the really dirty ones. Keep on truckin man. BTW Have you heard Paul Wellers cover of Wishing On A Star? He recorded years ago and it was a hit in GB. A different kinda soul than Rose Royce.

Kenny, I have to say, I absolutely LOVE that your videos are unedited. Your genuine, straightforward approach makes all the difference. There are so many channels out there that rely on heavy editing and constant "splicing," trying to hide the fact that they're overproduced or unprepared. It's obvious when someone is trying too hard to "say the right thing" instead of just sharing their honest thoughts. Your passion and authenticity shine through, making this channel truly amazing. Thank you for creating such an honest and engaging space for audiophiles!
For anyone who isn't familiar, I highly recommend checking out Harley at Pearl Acoustics. His channel is a perfect complement to Kenny's, with first-rate videos, no editing, and a wealth of unmatched knowledge and experience. Just like Kenny, Harley brings a lifetime of expertise to every video. Both of these channels are a treasure for any audiophile.
Thank you again, Kenny! Keep up the incredible work!

I've been using a Spin Clean. Works pretty darn well. Still some clicks and pops as noted below but haven't tried cleaning multiple times yet nor have I tried alternate solutions like Tergatol. I too replace most of the factory sleeves (some seem sufficient and are paper with a plastic interior lining). I use the "Invest in Vinyl" sleeves that are very much like your mofi sleeves. I considered a HumminGuru but opted for the Spin Clean to start. Recently had become aware of the Kirmuss that is getting some good reviews but am not in a hurry to invest yet.
Has anyone found any good outer sleeves for double albums?
