  • Badger paint mixer review
I picked this up for twenty bucks on Amazon
It uses two AA batteries and is quick to set up.
You just put the spinner in the paint and turn on the switch.
Don’t run it too long because it will infuse air into the paint if you do.
When you are done slowly pull the spinner up just until it comes out of the paint.
Then shut it off and clean it off. I use a jar of water and just spin it in the water and dry it with a paper towel.

I was watching Ken Schlotfeldt, the owner of Badger Airbrush, give a demonstration on a UA-cam channel. He used the Badger paint mixer to mix some paint, and he told a story as to why you ALWAYS want to turn the mixer off before pulling it out of the paint jar! He was giving a live workshop (I think it was at a trade show IIRC), and he used the mixer to mix a jar of paint. He was talking to his audience while doing so, and without thinking pulled the mixer out of the jar. Instantly he had a line of paint across his dress shirt and tie! D'oh!

That is funny as heck. I do love my Badger mixer. It is so much better than the toothpicks I was using before. LOL That is a funny story. I can only imagen the look on his face when he did that. LOL

    Mark,
Great review. I have had 1 for about 7 years. I have made a cap for bottles that are very full. I drilled a hole slightly larger than the blades in the cap & I put it on the bottles. Give it a spin and no muss no fuss.
    Take care,
    Rick

Nice review of a great product. Definitely a product a modeler should purchase after they get all of the basic modeling tools. Thanks for sharing.

9 out of 10 from me........would be a 12. But the head is slightly too big to fit in the Vallejo dropper bottles. A worthy addition to any modelllers tool colection

I'm very sorry, I don't have any Vallejo paints, but I'm not sure if I'd want to use it with their plastic bottles.

Nice review. I've had mine for a few months and love if. Thanks.
You are right that you don't want to go too long as it will froth the paint like a latte.

Great review, Mark, and no mess! I know what those can do if you're not careful. I had gotten the one that Micro-Mark sells. It's identical except the on/off is different, it's a lever you press. I use it for my craft paints when painting wood kits, they can get really thick after sitting. I do it in my sink next to my workbench, which is a good thing as I sometimes forget you can't pull it out too far while it's still spinning. Oops!

Thank you. I found out the hard way not to pull it out fast and too far. It was the first time I used it and I'm glad I was testing it out with just water, because it went everywhere. LOL

Been there, done that. But with paint. Fortunately in my deep sink. 😄

I just recently picked one of those on the Holidays at my local hobby shop. Spent just under $25. Hadn't had a chance to use it yet but Im sure it wont disappoint. Id like to see that strap wrench. Will it open old Testors bottle paint?

I never thought about doing a video on that strap wrench, but I'll do one and we will see if it opens one of those old bugger up. Give me a week or two to get it put out.

Great! I have a nerve injury in my left arm and have limited use. Ive been using pliers and its kind of a struggle. That tool looks like it may work better for me. Thanks!

I used pliers too, but I had to hold them in my right hand, and my left thumb is messed up so it was very hard. Now I can hold the strap wrench in my left hand and turn it easy. Much MUCH better.
