If you look at the time wraith's face carefully, you can see that on the side of its face it resembles the remnant of a speedster mask similar to Barry's, Eobard's, or Zolomon's. What if all the time wraiths are all ex-speedsters from different worlds who broke the time rules? Zoom is technically one of them now, and maybe they just deteriorate until they look like the wraiths. Just a thought.

I cannot express how much I love Tom's acting. This is one of the most sinister performances I've seen him give and I'm so god damn glad he's playing the reverse flash especially.
As of now (February 2019), THIS episode is still the best episode of the flash ever made. Praise goes to Grant and Tom (as always) for their acting skills. Tom was especially good in this episode as Eobard Thawne. It's great to see those two mortal enemies interacting with each other while they're unable tor eveal anything to Cisco or Caitlyn. Some things didn't make sense, like how did the particle accelerator become active all of a sudden to allow Barry to go back to his time, when in season 1 Thawne had to repair and activate it using some tech at the end of the season and it took a long time for it to be 100% working OR how did Barry's trip to the past and revealing himself to Team Flash didn't change a single thing aside from Hartley's story. All in all, this episode is the best one in my opinion, followed closely by the whole season 1 in general and -------------------SPOILERS------------------- episode 5x08 follows closely in its awesomness and is a nice refreshing reminder of the glorious days of this show. Reintroducing Reverse Flash as a potential villain once again seems like what the show needs at the moment.

You have to think of it as two different timelines, Barry A (with the white symbol) travels back in time from his own timeline to Barry B’s timeline. So when Barry A travels back to his own time, he travels back to his own timeline. It’s as if in addition to traveling back through time, he also traveled into another timeline. Well at least that’s my opinion on it.
Interesting that Wells tells Barry the consequences of what'll happen if he changes the past and it's the exact thing that happens at the start of season 3
besides, if the flash has a brand new problem that he needs thawnes help for and he goes back in time for his help that means there is no thawne in the future

The old Barry Allen went back in time when our Barry came back, thus causing a small time loop (of around a year).
You have to think of it as two different timelines, Barry A (with the white symbol) travels back in time from his own timeline to Barry B’s timeline. So when Barry A travels back to his own time, he travels back to his own timeline. It’s as if in addition to traveling back through time, he also traveled into another timeline. Well at least that’s my opinion on it.
