What about gating (if you are using real drums)?

No mention of scooping out 300'ish Hz? That's pretty much automatic for most kicks, unless they're already heavily processed and those mids are removed.
I thought the same - or even 500 ish so the bass can sit in the pocket
wrong kick vs. right kick.... that was kinda up to taste? both sound artificial AF, so in this scenario, i would use both?
guitar here sounds artificial too, same rhythm with kick, bass doubles the guitar, noisy second one-string guitar up, "great hit" is ready. much high frequency attack to ears. "wrong" they meant no eq and compression at all
