No she wasn’t, her Regency was frought with corruption and embezzlement, she was incredibly incompetent as regent, caring more for her Italian favourites than the state. Contrary to this show and Alexandere Dumas, Louis XIII wasn’t a petulant man child that threw a fit when he didn’t get his way, he was a quiet ruler who rarely lost his temper and even when he did if came in the form of a biting remark.

As much as I love Louis in this series, the real Louis XIII is not this petty 😅 He was an extremely intelligent man who just place a lot of trust in the wrong people.
I half-agree with you, he was a patient and extremely intelligent king (there’s a reason he was known as the just in his lifetime) I disagree that he put his trust in the wrong people, Richelieu (contrary to Dumas’ works) was a highly effective minister and advisor who strengthened France and its monarchy, with the support of Louis who loyally stood by him in good times and bad.
he was a dark man, a warrior and always had authority, even at the height of Richelieu's power
I dislike it. It’s nothing short of Character Assassination, while in his youth Louis XIII did have a temper on him, he was actually very calm and composed, often hiding his emotions. The only times that Louis XIII ever lost his shit was when his Royal dignity was insulted or when standard protocol was violated(this stemmed from his childhood where his Mother treated him like a puppet and her favourites Concino Concini and Lenora Galgai treated him with little to no respect which was why he was such a stickler for the rules) and even then it was in the form of a stiff reprimand or a biting remark that often put people, even Richelieu, their place. The Way Louis acts here would be more in line with his Cousin Louis de Conde or his brother Gaston,
