- Saudi Arabia is all set to introduce yoga across all of its universities. According to Saudi Yoga Committee President Nouf Al-Marwaai, several agreements will be signed with major universities in Saudi Arabia to support and promote yoga over the next few months. The announcement was recently made in Riyadh during a forum titled 'The Role of University Sports in Supporting the Kingdom's Vision in Sports', organised by the Saudi Universities Sports Federation in cooperation with the Ministry of Education. This is interesting. While KSA is embracing Yoga, there was a big fuss about Yoga at University of Ottawa about Yoga.
Non-progressive and insecure extremists make a fuss about it. And then find reasons to target it while associating it with religion just because it's mentioned in an ancient religious book because they don't know that Hinduism (what they call it) as a religion is developed side by side these philosophical texts where questions & answers about living a fulfilling and happy life are discussed & answered by many generations of people of that time. There is even an ancient text on living happy & fulfilled sexual life called - Kama Sutra - which most people in the west know about, I guess.
Progressive people study it & understand it by avoiding all the disinformation and embrace it as a spiritual way to connect with themselves & nature because it benefits them mentally & physically.
