Notice that the 100,000 troops of heaven were feat-less other than they were "fighting fiercely". None of these feats suggested him threatening the universe, galaxy, or even planet. Wukong's best DESTRUCTIVE feat was busting a mountain. Page 207 sees him doing that to free himself after Buddha's magic imprisonment seal was released. Wukong's best battle-relevant MAGIC TRICK was his size-changing. Page 848-849 shows Sun Wukong and the Bull Demon King grew to extreme sizes and clashes with each other, which draws the attention of the Taoist pantheon. Notice that there is still nothing stated of him beyond mountain/country-busting. Wukong's weapon of choice is the magic staff, which can also grow and shrink at will. It weighs less than 10 tons, as described in page 41. Page 41-42 also shows that Wukong grew into, depending on the translation, a 100,000 feet or 10,000 feet tall giant, with his magic staff also growing to touch heaven and hell, which is literally the earth and the sky. Notice that there's nothing stated of any feat spanning the planet/galaxy/universe. The concept of the modern universe is completely foreign to the author of Journey to the West. Wukong wasn't omnipotent at all: Amongst Wukong's many problems he faced which he alone can't solve, was the Red Boy. He was overwhelmed by the Red Boy's magical fires in Page 570-572. Returning for a second round nearly killed him, as seen in Page 575-577. This is consistent with the novel's portrayal of Sun Wukong having regular trouble against earth-bound demons who aren't even planet-level. Another event that obviously demonstrates that Wukong isn't planet level was that he was pinned down by the weight of 3 mountains. Read Page 464 to 466. If his hax was that good why did he ask for help from the mountain gods to free him? There are even more adventures that the monkey god went through, but all those feats are of his great fighting abilities and use of quick wits, not his magic hax.
Isn’t it based on the myth where Buddha tells the monkey king to reach the edge of the universe, Sun Wukong reaches the edge and pisses on a pillar when he comes back it’s revealed the pillar was in Buddha’s hand and the universe resides in his palm
These devas/suras and asuras was originally came from Indian Hindu mythology , and it is now makes sence to me about old hindu mythological stories . that asura's are one kinda of people who were brave , rich , and portrayed as dark , demon , incarnation of bad people in puranas(old hindu mythological stories) the interesting thing about Asura's are , even tho Asura's r portrait as bad and barbaric people , Asura's had some morals , they don't cheat and don't do dirty tricks to win a battle , unlike devas , who are portrayed as gods and incarnation all good people, who always do dirty tricks to win their battle between them and Asuras . In every battle between Asuras and devas , Asuras losses and devas wins in hindu mythology , but here in this game Asuras won their battle with their own Asura's traits , strong, angry , brave and straight as an arrow , who don't cheat . Justice for Asuras for all these thousands of years finally justified .
Well that may have been the end for Sun Wukong, but Asura wasn’t finished after that! (Spoiler) He got right back up and punched that finger until Wyzen literally exploded, Dragon Ball Z style!
Well, Asura did have to climb back from hell after that, and it took 10,000 years to climb back. While Wukong wasn't died either, he just trapped under there for like a thousand years LMAO
I hope the director gave credit for this. This is obviously different enough that there are no copyright issues due to being "creatively transformed", but it's obvious what this was inspired by.
If i remember both Asura's Wrath and Journey to the West were inspired by the same novel, i can't really remember the name of the novel. So yeah. Copy of a copy of a copy
Hey, guys? It’s okay to admit that the scene in the film was modelled after the game. We know that it’s from the book but the book doesn’t have pictures and it was not described like this. The scene was based off of the boss fight which was based off of an event in the book.
Ikr ? How can people be so dumb. Nobody is saying Asura's lore, story, symbolism, or whatever is original, we know both are inspired on mythology and old stories. But you can't deny the movie took too much inspiration, some shots are almost identical.

the fact that wukong was able to hold infinity for at least 20 seconds is impressive. if he was on an indestructible floor, he might hold the palm slightly longer, but he would still be overwhelmed.
For those who actually said Asura is stronger than Wukong, I'd have to disagree. While Asura may disintergrate Wyzen by punching his finger, Wukong had to turn into a giant gorilla bigger than any mountains and still lost. If you actually watch carefully, you will see that Wyzen's finger is only as wide as about four mountains, while Buddha's palm is basically across all the realms. Not even a mountain can even conpare to a single atom of the great palm. Now that's some next level power tier list bullshit material right here.
The whole point of this scene is to show that size doesn't matter in a universe where beings like those exist, so basing their strengh compared to how big something is, is kind of an empty point.
Asura is just like a joke. It represents how japan will stand. They think as long as they never give up everything will be possible. Don't believe me than Look at all anime series. You will see. If you compare the Wyzen's finger to Buddha's palm, you can see that Buddha's palm is massively bigger than the finger. Wukong transformed into a giant ape, yet he was still smaller than the skin cell of the palm. It will be hard for Asura to hold that up, not saying that it's impossible.
naja journey to the west is the inspiration of so many books, novels, video games, fairy tales and anime that doesn't surprise me a bit everything comes full circle
Tbh, the only reason why wukong failed was because the ground under him gave out and he lost balance lol. Just imagine seeing a massive hand from God just crashing down to Earth and you go ". . .I got this." Lmao
Wyzen is the equivalent of a horror character who manages to get one over the monster/ killer, but doesn’t double-tap them so he ends up getting his dumb ass killed. Buddha is the horror character who not only doubletaps, but makes sure that the body is locked up or mincemeat before he relaxes

@@smokingthatpack173 This is what i found.
Isn’t it based on the myth where Buddha tells the monkey king to reach the edge of the universe, Sun Wukong reaches the edge and pisses on a pillar when he comes back it’s revealed the pillar was in Buddha’s hand and the universe resides in his palm
China: "after all, how would they know?"
But seriously, most people who watched the movie probably don't even know what Asura is.
And vice versa. I hadnt heard of journey to the west before asura
Not China, just the director. You wouldn't say America made Michael Bay's Transformer. So there's that.
Sure they used the exact same choreography, idea, and camera angles. But clearly they didn't know lmao
(Spoiler)
He got right back up and punched that finger until Wyzen literally exploded, Dragon Ball Z style!
Well, Asura did have to climb back from hell after that, and it took 10,000 years to climb back. While Wukong wasn't died either, he just trapped under there for like a thousand years LMAO
Dbz, no...
Oraoraora style
Asura its stronger
That's because Budda was smart enough to use his WHOLE hand instead of a finger against the guy that beats up gods. Really makes a difference.
Mr. Q no,it took him 10,000 years to revive after deus killed him,but when yasha killed him it took him 500 years to revive again
Pretty sure Wyzen is bigger and most likely fatter then whatever owns that hand in the picture to the right.
Buddha

I hope the director gave credit for this. This is obviously different enough that there are no copyright issues due to being "creatively transformed", but it's obvious what this was inspired by.

@@DougNarinasNarinas The movie literally plagiarized Asura's Wrath most iconic scene almost shot-to-shot, lol. People nowadays have too low IQ to not understand the difference between "Inspired / homage" and "copying someone else's homework but just make it slightly different".

You are actually right
It's quite similar
I never thought I would see Saitama's punch in this.
Asura did punched
For those who actually said Asura is stronger than Wukong, I'd have to disagree. While Asura may disintergrate Wyzen by punching his finger, Wukong had to turn into a giant gorilla bigger than any mountains and still lost. If you actually watch carefully, you will see that Wyzen's finger is only as wide as about four mountains, while Buddha's palm is basically across all the realms. Not even a mountain can even conpare to a single atom of the great palm. Now that's some next level power tier list bullshit material right here.
Someone with a brain???
The whole point of this scene is to show that size doesn't matter in a universe where beings like those exist, so basing their strengh compared to how big something is, is kind of an empty point.
And as far as I know, there's no way to compare the two
Asura is just like a joke. It represents how japan will stand. They think as long as they never give up everything will be possible. Don't believe me than Look at all anime series. You will see. However in real life japan beg usa for mercy after 2 atomic boom. Never give up bullsh$t lol. You should know your limited and don't be stup$d like japan.
You don't need to compare strength wukong have the power to transform into anything he can literally transform in his enemy and then clone himself multiple times

Truly the best scene in "Journey to the West: Conquering The Demons" was the fish demon at the very start of the film.
Imagine Asura catching Buddha Palm, I mean Wukong Giant Gorilla Form is actually bigger than Asura, so if it's Asura, he can still hold it
Buddha is not a physically creating.
Even Asura have the power that can destroy Galaxy amd multiverses. He cant hurt ot touch Buddha

The similarities are uncanny.
Wyzen : using a finger
Buddha : gimme five wukong!
All that similarity aside
