Vocal Coach Yazik’s appreciation for the entirety of Sarah’s singing has evidently grown through the years. At first, he still had a hard time understanding her artistry because the performances being requested to him where performances where Sarah was not using her natural voice/original style. The performances being requested to him were either performances that were not focused on her techniques (Rock, Alternative, Pop) or performances where Sarah was imitating styles/tones of other international singers (Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera). He was very vocal at that time that he actually saw Sarah as a very skillful and knowledgeable singer, but he wanted to see her singing in her own style and with her natural voice. In his first few reaction videos, he still had a hard time grasping who Sarah really is as an artist because the videos being requested to him did not really showcase Sarah’s artistic identity that much.
But despite his hunger to watch the right videos that would really showcase Sarah’s originality as an artist, he had already pointed out various things that stood out in Sarah Geronimo’s singing based on the few performances that he saw. According to Coach Yazik, Sarah has a very wonderful head voice that “really stands out”. He also pointed out that Sarah Geronimo’s head voice was so rounded that it already sounds like a mixed voice at times. He also praised her mixing abilities stating that her chest voice is really strong, and that her head voice is also strong which is why she can mix her voice really well. He praised Sarah’s knowledge on vocal/belting placement which he also called as healthy and smart (even tagging her singing as “Christina Aguilera in a more healthy way”). He also noticed her unique capability to mimic styles and techniques of other singers, and Sarah Geronimo’s underrated agility which he called “precise and well-pitched”.
His appreciation for the entirety of Sarah’s singing had only gotten really stronger when he saw her performances in her UNIFIED concert. According to Coach Yazik, the deep Beyonce-like mezzo tone that Sarah Geronimo used in her UNIFIED concert with Regine Velasquez was indeed the natural sound of her chest tone when she is singing in an open manner, without playing with her larynx position & accent/placing her sound in her mask. He also pointed out Sarah Geronimo’s unique skill to create different sounds and praised the natural power that her natural voice has when she is singing in more natural techniques. He also complimented her vibrato and her unbelievable “dynamics and control” over her head voice.
After seeing her UNIFIED performances, it was her “Hold On, We’re Going Home” and “Were You There” performances that made coach Yazik in love with Sarah Geronimo’s voice. These are actually the performances that showcased Sarah Geronimo’s overall strengths as a vocalist. Upon seeing them, Coach Yazik started noticing her unique strength in low notes and midbelts. He also pointed out her undeniable strength in “vocal dynamics” which for him is also a standout and a signature in her singing. He called her voice gospelly/soulful. He also praised Sarah’s unique and distinct upperbelting technique and explained why her variation of this technique does not really damage her voice. After seeing Sarah Geronimo belting fullblast, he then started craving more for her performances from other genres. Since he already understood the extent of Sarah’s technical capabilities, he started getting more interested with the versatility that she has. He started getting more amazed with the fact that Sarah is a powerful vocalist who is capable of intense vocal acrobatics, but she is also capable of transforming her voice into different softer and tamer sounds that the genre/tribute requires from her. He called Sarah a chameleon for being able to produce countless sounds despite having a naturally powerful voice.
It is no longer a question that Sarah Geronimo is really a technically sound stylistic singer. She can incorporate different styles and elements of different genres in her singing without compromising her vocal health. She definitely has the enough knowledge in techniques to effectively pull off the style that she wants to go for, and that is rare in the industry. Combining daring and unconventional artistic styles with healthy techniques.

Sir, thank you so much for this beautiful video dedicated to highlighting Sarah's vocal strengths. Even vocal coach Yazik acknowledged how great of a vocalist and an artist Sarah is. No need to keep on proving to narrow-minded bashers how great of a singer Sarah is. They'll always be fixated to ignoring Sarah's strengths. They can always say their opinions out loud but an opinion can never be the truth and the truth is, Sarah is a very technical and skilled singer. She knows the very element of the genre she is singing. She can artistically alter her vocal tone and placement to highlight that she is not a monotonous singer who only knows open throat technique which is not really the core element or technique for rock songs, jazz songs and soul songs. She has already shown us very powerful and healthy open belts. I have nothing against their biased singers because we have a lot of crazy talented singers here in our country but one thing is for sure. SARAH DESERVES THE SPOT FOR BEING ONE OF THE PHILIPPINES' FINEST AND MOST TECHNICAL SINGERS.

Agree. I've watched his first reaction of her which is the Buwan duet and it's true that he didn't give much appreciation to Sarah G. I wasn't disappointed in that because Mr. Yazik has the most honest reactions among other 'reaction content creators' and he's very unbiased. You can tell that he is musically well educated and knows what he is talking about. I know that it's sometimes tiring to respond to these misleading/misinformation about her as musician but I appreciate and thank you for really taking time to elaborate and clear it off. Someone has to do it because if these misinformation keeps repeated and no one is brave enough to counter it then it becomes the truth to others even if it is not. So please don't tire. We'll support you the best we can. 🤞

I am so grateful that a legit vocal coach like Yazik appreciates the talent that is Sarah. Although most of us really are not musically educated, but somehow have ears that can differentiate real good singers from mediocres. One as learned as Yazik in vocal coaching only have good impressions on Sarah's vocal styles. As against some reactors who cannot even sing nor differentiate musical styles and yet blatantly criticize her as inconsistent. I am just so surprised how could such reactors be so mean when they are not even considered musically educated. My respect and appreciation for Mr. Yazik's reaction on Sarah. Thank you too, Mr. John Harrison for this compilation. My salute to you, Sir.

      Hi Coach Yazik! 🙂
Thank you for watching my video and for the positive comment. Thank you for your approval too. Truly an honor. This is really a big help to us, Sarah Geronimo fans, in proving and spreading to many Filipino people that Sarah Geronimo is really a talented and a knowledgeable vocalist. Because through the years, many detractors of her have been spreading malicious misinformation claiming that she is indeed "ignorant" about techniques and that her voice is weak, cheap, incapable, strained, damaged, and monotonous and that she does not deserve her fame. She is the most bullied and mocked Filipino singer online just like how Christina Aguilera is being disrespected by the UA-cam vocal community. They keep on saying that Sarah does not have any vocal strength and that she is only damaging her voice everytime she's singing with her poor techniques. Sarah, despite her popularity, is still not respected by majority of the Filipino online vocal community just because of her different vocal type (which is sorta deeper than most high pitched Filipina belters) and her refusal to follow the "Regine Velasquez" sound (which is a tradition in the Philippines). Her nasal soulful tone is often being mocked by a lot of Filipino people in the online vocal community as "ngongo" (Filipino term for cleft palate) just because they're not used to it. Her artistry and courage to experiment with daring and unconventional techniques are often misunderstood and are being bullied instead by majority of the online Filipino vocal community. So thank you for your approval and for your own analyses in your own videos too. It really is a big help to us and to Sarah.
If you have time and if you are interested, feel free to watch my videos to know more about Sarah's capabilities as a singer, as an artist, as a dancer, and as an actress. They are all carefully summarised and detailed with everything you have to know about her. There are really a lot of reasons why she is the biggest music superstar here in the Philippines. She does not sound like a typical Filipina belter. She exposes us to sounds that are not yet that accepted in the Philippines.
      Enjoy! 🙂

It's sad that some Filipinos do not appreciate Sarah's voice. Otherwise, they belittle and bash her. I hope this video would prove them wrong. Thank you Sir John Harrison and Coach Yazik.

To be exact, her natural chest tone sounds very similar to prime Beyonce's BUT with more forward projection and with incorporation of some of Celine Dion's techniques as well 🙂 plus Christina Aguilera and Lady Gaga's level of versatility and vocal experimentation.
