- I made a bow with a BroomStick. This time is not a Bamboo Bow, but is a bow with simple materials that anyone can have. The bow is an short bow, made for kids and ends with about 15 pounds at 18 inch of draw.

I used some skills of wood working, bowyery and some hand tools, so anyone can make it with no problems.

I prefer not use the wood in his natural color in this bow, so I use some bitumen to turn it in a dark color.

I am totally surprised by his creativity. I always thought of Broom sticks as rather rigid and brittle pieces of relatively low quality wood. I never thought that they could be so flexible!!!!!

@@manuelarango8969I had my doubts too. Especially because at first, it's a broomstick. And second, those relief cuts. I think just shaving would be safer bet.
Alot of broom sticks are made from birch, hickory, oak etc and already dry so making a bow out of it is pretty cool..

The backing of the bow still split of the wood so I try it without the backing it work somehow 😅
I mack a string it take some time
It is little hard to find straight branches for make arrows
I make wooden arrows they fly just about 50m or less
The bow seems to be week , it will never hunt an animal bigger than a rabbit frome distance more than 10m or 15 m at best with my poor skill
If it is windy day the situation is worse
The tool I used is hand saw, screw driver as a chissle a hammer and one wood file it become very dull at end
It cost me 1.5$ and some time
I'm planning to do a bigger walnut wood recurve bow and backing it with fiberglass

Tried this once. Broke the first time i flexed the limbs. The wasted effort crushed me...i would never attempt again if i put THIS much effort into it!😂😂
That being said, im glad that you don’t get deterred as much as me!
I think you shaved it down too much, or the wood you used wasn't great, either way, keep trying, keep putting effort. You never learn if you never mess up.
I can imagine how much it must have hurt when it broke. But don't let your failures stop you, failures are lessons, next time you'll do better! It takes time for an artisan to know the material he is working with, you need to know wood, how it feels, how it behaves, bamboo might have been better for you to start with... anyway, whatever material you choose to use, get to know that material, get a feeling for it... and don't give in to frustration, take the failures as lessons, points of improvement... If you feel the need to build a light sabre, that means the force is calling you. Building a light sabre is a sheer impossible task for the uninitiated, so never give up, Padawan!

Great to see you're not using power tools! Simple tools that are accessible to anyone, which makes it more motivating to start a project like this!!! You make it look simple, and everything actually IS simple if you have the correct tools, but in the end it is not the hands that limit you, but your head, lol, and you impressed me with your woodworking skills. You sure know how to work wood! Of course, thatbthe bow would break, that could be expected (test the bow first for a few weeks before finishing it with a final touch of carvings and paint). Note that the bow could have been reinforced with cables (penobscot bow) so it wouldn't have broken so easily. Backing bows with cables allows you to build bows with lower quality wood. I think you'll love the concept!

always remember that one's tools must be sharp, and especially one's tuning forks must be as sharp as barber blades😉😊 I didn't think you could use a broomstick to make a bow😂 now one thing to add to the survival book😊is the wood glue you use to attach the cotton pieces with
Witches uses broomsticks to fly. This guy uses it to shoot arrows, how crazy is that??? I made my own bows when I was a kid, but never thought of a broomstick. On hindsight, the flexibility etc... of the wood depends on the kind of wood itself PRIMARILY, and then secondarily it depends on the shape, and by halving the thickness of the broomstick, it allows for bending, so now I realise that not only the branches of a tree serve as prime material. Any "stick" of a reasonable length will do... btw, since this is a shorter bow, you can increase its strenght by using cables, like in the penobscot bow, this technique allows to build stronger bows with lower quality wood!

Parabéns por confiar em um cabo de vassoura, mesmo que seu tempo de utilidade seja mínimo, teria salvado sua vida em uma situação de real necessidade, até mesmo um arco fabricado com as melhores madeiras tem seu tempo de duração, não se frustre pelo final prematuro de sua obra, e sim fique feliz pelo alcance de uma satisfação prazerosa ao concluir a construção de uma arma tão letal com apenas um cabo de vassoura, esses cabos ultimamente não tem boa qualidade na sua madeira, bom trabalho jovem gafanhoto, boa sorte em sua próxima criação, sucesso para seu canal.
Este tipo de videos deberia estar en la categoria de para mayores de 18 años, puesto que no es imposible que un adolecente quiera fabricarse una arco para jugar, siendo esto muy peligroso para otro niños y hasta pare el mismo.
Deixa de ser ignorante. 😂😂😜. Tiro com arco é um esporte como qualquer outro. Atletas olímpicos que atiram com arco não começam no esporte com mais de 18 anos.
E se for pensar assim, Karatê, Kung Fu ou qualquer arte marcial deviam ser tudo para maior de idade, visto que um soco na garganta pode causar mais estrago do que uma flecha com ponta de treino.
@@IndianaBows El deporte de tiro al arco tiene reglamentos, que establecen donde y como practicar el deporte, A diferencia de lo que muestra el video, donde vemos al hombre practicando con su arco casero en el patio de su casa, una persona sin criterio formado (un menor de edad) pensara que eso esta mal o simplemente lo imitara?
Ahora los deportes de artes marciales, tambien deben seguir reglamentos y hasta son regulados teniendo que sacar permisos para poder practicar y ademas a esta gente desde pequeños les explican, que no aprenden artes marciales para andarlas usando libremente, salvo que se vean forzados a defenderse.
Al menos asi es en mi pais, se que en otros paises no tienen la cultura de respetar las leyes o simplemente existen vacios legales terminan normalizando cosas que en otros paises estan hasta prohibidas.
