Honestly this was the PEFECT sam pilgrim video. Ouch my back.. old. Castle tour history facts, ridiculous bike, non stop pissing myself laughing. Being kind to the kid on the track by including him. Just perfect. I don't think I've enjoyed one of your videos more in the last 6 years.
Flevobike has made some great recumbents through the years. OkeJa, Amigo and finally the pinnacle of recumbent engineering: The Flevobike Greenmachine. I should know, I own one of the 600 ever made fitted with nylon/glass composite wheels. A wonderful machine.
Any major differences in maintenance between recumbents & uprights? I do my own and always think about how long distance commuting would be like laying in a more comfy position.
@@TeamLas3r maybe you can rent a few different models to find out. Recumbents are pretty different in handling and comfort, and everyone has their own liking. What they have in common, is you don't bear down on your wrist so much which is really comfortable. Maintenancewise, they are pretty much bicycles with a very long chain that likes to collect dirt. The protective tubes around the chain (you see them in the video) are good for your pants and good for your chain. For me, I found out, a motorcycle top box is perfect. It gives me storage, improves on my aerodynamics a little, and the extra weight doesn't really matter to me because recumbents are heavy anyways. In fact, a little weight increases the ratio of sprung to unsprung masses, which is good for suspension comfort. And yes, try a full suspension recumbent. I don't want to miss mine.
Right? Came to say the same. Now he knows how we feel. I was so out of breath on my last session trying to wheelie, takes serious core. Can’t wait for the next session
I rode one similar to this in North Carolina back in the mid-late 80's. I lost one of my checker-board Vans and my left-nut on a root-section, after some major spillage off a 12ft cliff-face. When we got back to my truck, my lost Van was sitting on the tailgate waiting for me. 😳 My left-nut, recovered.
CAN'T GET OVER HOW MAHOOSIVE THAT CHAIN IS!! 😅 Imagine combining this with that big fan-propeller thing you got (also from marketplace)! Or team up with Canyon to create a full-sus recumbent.. Also, love how it goes from "Ah, my back" to the "best thing ever" in the blink of an eye! 😂 And forcing the merch down our throats! 😂 Not to mention the history lesson and crack-a-Monnie, 10 minutes of epic entertainment!! 👍🏻

@@cebruthius I've seen some really nice ones. Sam's marketplace gem is not one of those :) I'd rate it a notch down from the bed frame bike. They are not all made out of garage door opener parts.
the juxtaposition of history with smashing berms, doing wheelies and flying blind down trails on a recumbent bike could only be pulled off by one man, and that man is you Sam. We need more of this type of content!
As a ‘bent rider (a dark sider), I’ve been waiting for this and it was highly entertaining. The bike is a bit mild as a ‘bent though, very definitely at the ‘shopper’ end of the recumbent spectrum. But that doesn’t stop me not wanting to wait to long for the next instalment.
That was hilarious Sam. The stuff you come up with to cycle is one thing, but the pure insanity you perform on them is on a whole new level. Excited to see what happens next 😂😂
Why wouldn't you want to watch these videos right ? But if you couldn't, just listening to Sam's commentary, exclamations and laughter really is enough. I laughed so hard this one, especially when he bounced down the stairs and slid to a stop. 🤣I just remembered he almost went under that one fence as well.

That recumbent bicycles was made by a master builder. We have a broken chair ... fits here, we have a beam probably from his house, we don´t need in the house, fits there. The wheels of his children bicycle, he doesn´t need wheels ... Amazing video again 😃🤙
I cried with laughter as usual Pilgs, love the bit where you say your back hurts while you are trying to wheelie and then you slam yourself and say 'old' then the camera captures your back all blown through the remnants of the seat, hahahahhahaha.
Im always worrying about my bikes and if they safe or not for sending... you make me realise more and more that they are way more safe than i think after watching you sending things like this all the time 😂 inspirational bike wizard of a man you are 😅🤟
