@@namehereandthere I had to look it up, I see now the alternate is that ape-like peaceful one. That is a great one, I didn't know the default was a full toothy Beast Man head. The weird thing with Classics and Origins here then is that they left the sharp teeth on their Beast Man heads, where the original 80's one seemed to have removed the sharper teeth from the sculpt, at least seemingly in pictures I can find. I never got to have the original toys either.

Maybe… my Walmart stopped carrying all MOTU, so I have to Ebay this.
I really debated this due to the price, but I ripped the band-aid off and bought him when I found him at Walmart. The checkout hurt - no doubt - but ever since, I have been incredibly happy that I have him. He sits on my desk and at least once a day I end up picking him up and playing around with him. Such a great figure!

My Wal Mart still only has the naked Stratos wave, at full price LOL. I did find a Point Dread though. But whether they will ever get Mossman, I doubt it.
Same. Every Origins past the first wave I have had to order besides that wave with Jitsu and Sorceress. But I had a chance to order Moss Man so I said what the hey.

i have 3 walmarts by me and only 1 of them had him went and drove out to a few further out and they didnt have him either. it seems like its rare at walmart, even most of the walmarts in my area has pulled their he-man figures.
@danjones6702 Mine has pulled all of them as well. I work there and still check, but nothing.
@@Captain-Palsy im going to guess that he is a selective item depending on if that walmart still carries figures or not. the only place that i had found him, still had figures from the buzz off, sorceress line. they also got in the point dread. while the places that had no he-man figures got nothing. im guessing these things will be scarce at walmart.which might be why he costs so much. but from people online who had found him, those walmarts had carried around 6-9 of them.
This moss man is a great figure! I waited and waited and found him at Walmart today for only $10.00. Couldn’t believe the score!

actually found him for five dollars today! Gave the alt head and armor to the Masterverse moss man whom I was never too happy with his tiny head.
A must have figure! He actually looks very similar to the vintage cross sell image
The only issue i have (besides the price) is if you leave the yellow armor on him too long there will be some ceeasing in the flocking.

Mattel knocked it out of the park on this one! $40 is a shame though. Adult collector price instead of kid price. I really want kids to be able to get these amazing toys and hate to see them priced out.
I always say that to. These toys they are making kids can't even buy them to enjoy them because they make these figures to expensive. Some parents can't even afford to buy their kids toys anymore. I would only purchase this moss man figure if I could sell it online for more money. I sell vintage he-man figures online.
Too expensive, have you seen the world you live in??? This price is right in line with everything else in the world. This is very much not too expensive for kids.

I checked every week for this MossMan from Walmart, empty shelves everytime! It got to the point that I hit up my EBAY app and went hunting, I did find one and ordered it right away .... it came from New Mexico and I live in Massachusetts but I'm happy he's in my collection now! 👍😁

I have seen the alt head used on a Man At Arms body, looks great and even more like a different character than just putting it on the flocked body

A friend finally found him and was able to secure me a copy. I really like the Origins version as much as the vintage. More smells like PineSol ha ha, but I'm glad. Stinkor just smells like bad plastic. As a kid, I never had Stinkor, so I could never setup a classic odor fight ha ha. Moss Man's alternate look is like a berserker Moss Man. Great to use for being outnumbered ha ha. I hope Gigantasaurus gets made. I like the extra art on the flaps when you unfold them out. The corner on my mini comic was bent too ha ha. I guess if I was willing to pay what I did for this guy, I'll fork out the 40 bucks to get flocked Panthor. My vintage Moss Man's flocking is about as good as the one you showed.
I just got Moss Man from a collectibles store in my country (paid double of what you pay retail in the US for it!) It's a great figure, but it doesn't smell like pine at all. It's more like some sort of Tamiya paint solvent smell, and it does shed the flock every time I move its articulations... something like 5 to 10 tiny hairs depending on how many articulations get rotated, and a couple more if I just grab it to put on its accessories. It's an original figure bought sealed in its package, no doubt about it, but I looked around reviews just to check if someone else was experiencing the same issues, and I did find a couple of lesser-known youtubers that noticed the same flock shedding and smell details. I guess I'll just keep it in its box and take it out from time to time. I want to keep it as flocked as possible, because yes, the flocking is awesome.
I was lucky enough last week to find him at Walmart. It was the only one on the shelf. not all Walmarts have origins or master verse figures I’ve noticed.

Well,since I can't get him from Walmart. My only option is a reseller who will Likely triple the cost... also, I am somewhat disappointed that this line was modular for customization, but no weapons packs. It would be a perfect addition for pushing sales. I also dream of getting body parts accessory packs, but I know that likely will never happen
Yeah, I'm not sure how people are getting these in Walmart because according to the regional managers in my area Walmart has dropped MOTU
@@archmage7813My Walmarts still carry MOTU. That's how I got mine. It really just depends on the store. Of the 10 in my city, 7 have MOTU and 3 do not. He was on their site today for sale. May be gone now.

The only letdown with Mattel is their exclusive Distribution over MCreations .
It makes it even harder for foreign Collectors to lay hands on their product .....

He is a pricey figure no doubt. Moss Man is a must have for any motu collector. I never had him as a kid. Mattel need to make this figures at a decent price. Good video sir as always. By the way l brought two and planning own buying 2 more. Lol

Reminds me of how back in the 1980s, you'd see hologram stickers EVERYWHERE -- you'd even get them packed in FREE with GoBots -- but when it comes time to do Eldor's book in Classics or the Super7 "Vintage" lines, they've apparently become prohibitively expensive. Somebody knows somethin', but they ain't talkin'!
That mystery guy at the 1:13 mark looks like Red Shadow, a Preternian concept character that showed up in the MOTU Classics pack-in mini-comics, and was planned for the line, but never got made before it faded out.
looks like he's flocked with mix of different coloured static grass that's usually used for model soldier bases and miniature train scenery. It wouldn't be that difficult to flock the extra head so it matches the figure. I'd try it myself but Mr Mossman is a walmart exclusive and that store's a US only franchise
In addition, I wish they included a figure similar to the one on the character in the 200X series.
Got mine a few towns over from me. There were probably 16 on the shelves. That never happens here. Great figure to be sure!

Very high price from Mattel in the US? In Germany, the Moss Man costs 49.99 euros (54.11 USD) and we only have it exclusively at Smyths Toys. European fans and German fans are slowly being abandoned. Because "Masters of the Universe Origins" will soon only be available for order via the Mattel Creations Store in the USA. And thus even more expensive or unattainable for us European fans! But thanks for introducing the character in detail.

Very happy that Mattel kept the flocking and pine scent. You just can’t have a Moss Man without either of those two things! $40 is a bit steep, considering Panthor was the same price and is bigger. But I’ll gladly pay the extra to ensure one of my favorite characters gets the royal treatment. If only it weren’t a Walmart exclusive. My Walmart has stopped stocking MotU altogether, so unless something changes with the new Filmation line (which it might), it might be a while before I’m able to find this one… 🫤
you would think for $40 they could have at least flocked the LOP beard. I have a feeling they will probably release Moss Man again on creation without the armor and extra head for $20.
Anyone know why Mattel chose the "armored" right hand instead of a plain one? Does that have any significance? I just think the detail on the back of the hand was an odd choice when the figure is basically naked. You can see what I'm talking about at 10:14.

Hi Dan, I know you get a lot of comments over many videos so you probably won't even get chance to read this but just incase you do I wanted to ask you something....
My wife and I have been collecting MOTU Origins since the beginning, we missed a few creations exclusives in the first year but other than that we've got everything! I'ts been our shared hobby and something we love and unfortunately at least for us very expensive. Figures like moss man are impossible for us to get here in Canada, we've even tried driving to the US 4 times to find one and tried about 6 Walmarts and 6 targets each time, same for Duplico. I imagine a lot of collectors are in the same boat judging by your comments about Duplico to Mattel staff at SDCC.
So my question is, as someone who's well versed in collecting MOTU and someone who's talked to staff at Mattel, what do you think collectors should do? Wait in hope that some may eventually come out or cave to scalpers and pay a fortune on ebay? or is there another option you would suggest?
It would be nice to find him anywhere under $150 in Australia.
Oh! I didn't realize he was brand new! I thought I just lucky and my local Wal-Mart finally got past Jitsu, Sorceress and crew. I'm glad I bought him right away. Hopefully, it will encourage Wal-Mart to stock OTHER Masters figures.

There isn't a Walmart within a 3 hour drive that carries MOTU anymore near me.
I need this, unfortunately, this is not sold in select countries outside the US.
If this is available in those select countries it’s not on retail and 2-3x times the retails cost from Walmart.

Just letting you know how different things are outside the US. I’m sure Mattel is watching your reviews and reading the comments as feed back to them about their products not reaching to the proper consumers.
They usually end up going to the “deep pocket” individuals, which makes their product literally exclusive to a specific social class.
It’s not “that’s life” it is literally just business.
Toy prices are getting insane. I saw the black series luke and grogu and it's like $43! Then they had the gi joe shipwreck and another guy but only $22 each so $44 total? So pretty much you have to pay full figure price for a tiny grogu

It's been several years between Classics Moss Man to Origins. The technology that deals with flocking must've evolved and upgraded by then. Nothing weird about it. It was just not available back then, I'm guessing. 🤔

Cool box, Cool figure, awful distribution. ...For some reason there are people that will jump in with "have patience because it may be clogging shelves in 6 months" when the horrible rollout is mentioned. Even if were to end up randomly available After-The-Fact, the chaos is already ridiculous. Either it's out or not. Not looking to "hunt" for a new release because of contrived scarcity or bad planning.

To increase the smell on this figure and Stinkor, place them in a bag with the Classics counterpart for a few weeks. Afterwards, open and the character will be overpowering.

I waste minutes a day searching eBay for a fluffy moss man. After buying 2 for around $30sh’ , I wasn’t Impressed but they’re the best available to me searching 2nd market. But this guy’s fluffy & exactly what I want in a moss man. Not happy about the price but you got to pay up in. This hobby sometimes. Lately I have been good avoiding toys, so for him I’m splurging
