The mumbling has been going on for the last couple of years among comics, and Jesse David Fox apparently asserts it in his new book: Pryor and Bamford are the two best stand ups ever. I can't disagree. I'd put Norm up there as well but Maria is a genius writer and performer. She never not makes me laugh . . . or care about her.
Long time fan. So sorry to hear about Mrs. Bamford. Maria is one of the funniest people alive. I completely admire her willingness to talk about her struggles with mental health issues. She's helped so many.
I saw her in the uk last week or so and her performance blew me away. There were like just under 200 people in the audience and that was so shocking bc she is so big in the states. Met her afterwards and she was the most down to earth, sweetest, humble and genuine person I've ever met. Sometimes I recommend meeting your heroes. Just not all are as awesome as Maria Bamford. I hope she gets bigger here!
This woman made my day after the monologue. OMFG Hospice IS THE BEST care you will get...My dad died in my arms from the same diagnosis, but WE told jokes until he stopped breathing...He was a Moe Larry and Curly kinda guy...He had 24/7 care. :) and a sad face ,but I know he is laughing...
So Sorry for your mother Maria. My heart dropped when I realized. You're a goddess of comedy, and by proxy, so is she. Murderous set too. Pure fire from beginning to end!
Maria is So quick-, intricate, original . That whole family has been presented with deep affection throughout Maria's work. She brings them all alive. But her mom was Part of her comedic foundation- her midwestern scandinavian roots. It's sad to hear of her mom's passing. These folks are very real and their characters are wonderful and Their daughter'/sister's deeply moving tribute came through loud and clear.. I'll have to start catching up with what she's doing these days. .
I continue to salute the producers of this show for featuring stand up on a regular basis. I have enjoyed Maria for many years (had the pleasure of meeting her once) and I still delight in her twisted view of the world.
@@petrinasmith6853 omg really?!? I'm so excited to see it! I'm a huge fan of both so I got excited when I thought drew got them confused. If I was Kristen and someone thought I was Maria that would be like the best compliment ever! Thanks for letting me know! 💗
I fully enjoy her work, she is so cerebral. I worried for her because she suffers from personal darkness but it seems of late she has found a new strength and I hope it persists. I wish her much success and contentment.
She has the best humor... and morbid as well. I remember seeing urns displayed with smaller ones and joking, "Do we have to incinerate her cat's, too?"
She’s sweet as pie while delivering some of the darkest material ever created by a comedian. She’s in a league of her own. I’ve met her, she is so genuine and humble.
Her mother reminds me of the women I interacted with in Omaha the two very long years I lived there. They combine a child-like simplicity with a complete lack of social boundaries.
I’ve just discovered Maria Bamford in the middle of a depressive episode and I swear she’s helping me just as much as the Wellbutrin.
Same here
I suffer from depression and OCD and I love her comedy, it resonates with me so much. I feel like I see life in a very similar way to her.
Agreed, I've loved her for years, & especially appreciate her raising positive awareness for mental health issues, she's amazing! 💖👏🏼🤟🏼✌🏼
Welcome aboard
She helps me every time my depression kicks in. If you can find her original show "The Maria Bamford Show" it's a treasure trove.
I'm genuinely sad to hear her mother's passed. Hearing impersonations of her for so long I feel like I almost knew her. Love u Maria ❤️
In addition to Maria's impressions, her mom has shown up several times in her work. Check out The Maria Bamford Special Special Special, for instance.
I’m sad, too. I’ll drink a Diet Coke in her honor. I lost my mom too last year.
It’s one of the best parts of her act
@@dresdnhope She also cameos in Season 2 of Lady Dynamite!
So, so sad.
To me, Maria can be mentioned in the same breath as Carlin and Pryor. She’s that good.
@whereisevan, That is such a kind compliment... and spot on too.

Only Maria could make you laugh so hard and break your heart at the same time. So much love to you, Maria.
My sentiments exactly. As a comedian she lives on the boundary between hilarity and tragedy. Truly one of a kind….
She is SO HILARIOUS!!! RIP Maria’s mom - I still remember her from the Living room Special.
Long time fan. So sorry to hear about Mrs. Bamford. Maria is one of the funniest people alive. I completely admire her willingness to talk about her struggles with mental health issues. She's helped so many.
She hasn't helped anyone...but has made fun of them and self degraded herself. Comedians are corrupt jokers.

Maria Bamford is a genius and I’ll shout her praises til my last breath!!!!
It's very interesting hearing dark humor in such a cheerful voice.
That's Maria Bamford's super power. 💪🏼
I've loved this about Maria's comedy in her various impressions. Mirroring so much of the absurdity of culture haha
Wow, hearing about the passing of your mother hit me like a train. I'm so sorry for your loss.

She kills every set and never disappoints.
Pretty sure I've seen her three times over the past two years and it's genius every time. She is a true legend, love her.
Aw she dedicated the set to her late mother how endearing. Always loved Maria.
Is it finally time to give her GOAT status? I'm almost in tears hearing that her Mom passed.

Genius.

So amazing! She’s on my comedy Mt. Rushmore.
Mine too!
Fun idea! Who else do you have on there?
Man, I'm sorry to hear that her Mom has passed. She has impersonated her mom a lot in her comedy over the years. Sad news. Prayers up
She's always the same person. One of the many reasons why I love her.
Maria is absolutely hilarious! I love all the impressions she does of random people in all of her routines!
Maria is a genius. Please come to Australia Maria so I may worship thee. RIP Mrs Bamford.
It worked! She's coming this year!

I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this, but every time I can’t tell if I’m crying from laughter or sadness (both).
Maria is one of my very favorite comedians ever

My favorite comedian. Her comedy is just *chefs kiss*. Surreal.
She's coming to the UK next month and I'm lucky enough to have a ticket to see her in Birmingham. She's one of a kind and I can't wait.
I haven’t laughed this hard in a long time!! Thanks Maria! You’ll forever be crazy Target lady 😆
You're thinking of Kristen Wiig! Two different people!
No Maria actually did the Target commercials at one time. look it up!😁

Her mom reminds me of myself a bit. Actually, a lot. She loved Maria and always was such a good sport.
Such a great set!!!! I love Maria Bamford ❤
I cannot WAIT for Human Resources!
She never fails to make me laugh.
She is one of the funniest female comedians out there! I absolutely loved her series “Lady Dynamite”!!!👍😆

When will people start calling Mamford a legend, because I already do and she is.
One of the greatest comedians working today, So very odd.

She's so uniquely funny.
One of the greatest Comics ever imo
Woah that was the darkest real comedy ive heard and she balanced it perfectly wow
I fully enjoy her work, she is so cerebral. I worried for her because she suffers from personal darkness but it seems of late she has found a new strength and I hope it persists. I wish her much success and contentment.
A courageous soul. I'm happy to see she has handled her mother's death well. Very funny.

Maria is a national treasure. Brilliant!💙
She is absolutely brilliant.
My mom died in May of 2020 and she would have laughed her ass off because she knew I would have to do something with her "toys".🤣
Maria has done nothing but hone her act and got better and better.
People that can compartmentalize, we are those that understand dark humor.
I love you mom.
Go, Bammers, GO!!
Watched this after listening to David Jesse Fox interview on Maron's wtf. Can't wait to read the book. ❤❤❤ Bamford.
The absolute best
Hospice joke hands down the best 👌
Now, please pass the morphine.
NEVER clicked do fast! Maria? Bam-Bam!

This is the funniest set on death EVER! Tho sorry her mom passed. Marilyn is an endless fountain of entertainment.
This is one of her most brilliant bits, IMO. Sans pareil.
Even if you don't care for Maria's type of comedy, I hope you can see it's unique cleverness. Love you Maria.
A brilliant tribute only Maria Bamford could have made.
