After he started gaining fame, he went to a linguist to get rid of his British accent. If you listen to his later interviews you can't hear his accent anymore.
Is anyone else surprised he didn’t become a bigger star after The Princess Bride? Seemed like the kind of role that would usually turn a handsome charismatic actor like that into a big movie star.

Many people forget Christian Bale's American accent is also an act, because, like Cary Elwes, he is British. The difference is Christian Bale never lost his native accent, whilst Cary Elwes did. He still has some remote British features in his speech, but he definitely sounds at least 80% American now.
Generally love Bobby but this was certainly not her best interview I suppose. Perhaps she came off a bit rude initially starting w the “don’t tell me anymore about the French toast”. I assume she was tryna poke fun but he didn’t take the bait. Not the best approach for humor, Bobby. Then her comment about his maturity was also rather patronizing. Thankfully she learned from this and produces much better interviews later in life.

You can hear him Breathing when she does the extra takes 😭❤
Cary's accent 🥺
Yeah, I liked his British accent. Its too bad he went to a linguist to get rid of it. In his later interviews he speaks with an American accent.
If you listen very closely, he still has a trace of his British accent. @SilkyShish
He's like a like baby here! Love this. What a cool clip to see
Carey is such a gentleman. I loved him in Kiss the Girls he played a psycho great 😂
He’s so charming 😊❤
She said 😂I don’t want to hear about your French toast

Jesus christ! He is such a beautiful sexy human being 😍 but he does seem a little high, he seems to be finding it difficult to focus lol.
yeah he's obviously coked up in this interview.
I think he’s nervous. If you see him in all of his interviews early in his career, he’s fiddling with his hands.
Holding back the coke babble expertly.
Awwwkkkwwaarrrdddddd (but I could listen to him talk about French toast all day)
I wanted to hear more about the french toast.
Cary on my wayward sun
Must’ve been a bad French Toast
Tremendous Bob;;;;; hey hey
Wasn’t he in the jungle book 1994?
My name is coy Denton
I love you miss you
Cary elwse
very cool 😎
Is it just me or does he sounds hoarse in this interview? He must have been a little under the weather on the day this took place.
it was the french toast
Probably hungover lol
Great to see a young Cary Elwes❤️ but what a terrible interviewer 😬

Such an awkward interview. You would think it would be their first and last, but they actually did several more which were better than this one.
