DRDGOLD’s Far West Gold Recoveries regional tailings storage facility.

On 5 June 2024, DRDGOLD’s Far West Gold Recoveries (FWGR) signed an agreement with Stefanutti Stocks for the construction of the Regional Tailings Storage Facility (RTSF).
The RTSF will consolidate and safely manage historical mine dumps scattered across the West Rand, addressing environmental concerns such as groundwater contamination and sinkhole risks in dolomite areas. This project underscores DRDGOLD’s commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship, promising stable employment for over 20 years, benefiting our employees and local economies.
We are living up to our purpose of rolling back mining’s environmental legacy of mining, and adding to quality of life.
