Hoosier couldn't do the race cause of not only Goodyear having exclusive sponsor and rights there, but also the very high cost to ship thousands of tires to "Land down Under". And yes Bonnett did win that one.

Don't forget about Jeff Gordon's defense-related schemes, either.

Maybe the deciding factor on whether a championship counts or not is being a primary for at least 25% of the races? So any sponsor that is the primary for 9/36 races gets a cup. Idk, just trying to throw a number around for consistency.
I will say this about the Valvoline championship argument. There are very few primary sponsors anymore. I guess you could go by a majority and that's all.

So... Corey Heim driving a STP sponsored car at Dover this month was an illusion? Last I checked, the STP brand was still tied with Petty, and that was after they left in '03, stayed gone from '04-'10, and then STP reunited in '11 with Allmendinger. Petty and STP have not split since.

Well I only did that for the home improvement one because those brands didn’t have a bunch of unique winners, and it was only 3 brands.
