- Running Proton Experimental.
Just extract the ISO, run setup and install, then play.
Works great on Steam Deck. Havent been able to get this to run at all on Windows 7/10/11.
WINE/Proton it works perfectly
Blast from the past!
How did you get this to run on the deck? I've been trying anything: I've installed it on my PC and dropped it into the deck, I tried installing it from scratch on the deck itself, I tried to run it with dgvoodoo2 extracted in the folder, used multiple protons...nothing worked. always get "Installtion Error" when trying to run it.
Any suggestions? Thanks
Sounds like you've got a bad/corrupt copy of the game. As above, I just extracted the ISO, installed and ran with Proton experimental
@@guest21984 I actually tried two different copies but you’re probably right! Can you hint at where you got your copy from?
@@YotamNHL Sure can - PC World in about 2001 :D
@@guest21984 hahaha got it. And did you install it on the deck or on a pc and than transferred it?
@@YotamNHL Installed on the deck. Just run setup and have setup as the item added in Steam (that you launch with Proton experimental)
Many thanks for the video I can install the game and also display the start screen with the play button but then it breaks off. Does anyone have an idea of what this could be? I have Proton Experimental in it. What is the website you download the game? I have the original cd rom but they dont works.
In desktop mode, I copied the Iso I made from my game to the Deck, extracted it to home/games/Motocross-Madness-2/
Added SETUP.EXE to my steam library and set proton experimental, ran it and installed with default paths then to launch the game just use the same shortcut.
Should work in desktop mode or game mode now
@@guest21984 Many thanks for your response.
I think I know what my problem is now. I always selected a different directory during the installation, which could be why it doesn't work. I would like to test it. In the meantime I got it running under Win10 on the Steamdeck. With the appropriate controller driver, you won't notice any difference to SteamOS in the game. Thank you very much for your help.
@@guest21984 Just tested it actually runs on SteamOS now. Thank you very much for your crucial tip
