She was getting so over with the fans, that she had to go back being a face

The advantage of a 3 hour RAW is that there is a lot of room to develop new stars, whereas Smackdown, it does not have that luxury. Sure, it took a bunch of 6 man tag matches and long-term booking, but the payoffs ended up being great. Everytime you watch Raw, you look forward to Damien Priest, Rhea Ripley, Chad Gable+, Drew and Punk, Gunther, Bronn, Sami, and Dragunov with actual fleshed out Heels. So much variety that has been built up because of three hours of Raw. On Smackdown, it's really only Cody, LA Knight, Roman, and K.O. There's not much starpower in Smackdown's midcard, especially when the Bloodline overshadows everything.
It’s possible to write a two hour show and build the roster up. There just needs to be good writing. WWE had RAW on the air for almost twenty years when they eventually went to three hours.
In the Attitude and Ruthless days, they found a way to get everyone time.

The only time raw and SmackDown was on the evening. Plainfield was like in the 2000s but even at certain points during the decade, one show was somewhat better than the other back-and-forth depending on the year, but the gap wasn’t huge like how it was in the 2010s and now.
