  • *Bisibele Bath Recipe:*
    Ingredients:
    - 2 cups rice
    - 1 and 1/4 cups toor dal
    - 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, beans, beetroot, etc.)
    - 1 onion, sliced
    - 1 tomato, sliced
    - 5 byadagi chillies
    - A small amount of tamarind
    - 2 tsp fresh coconut powder
    - 3 tbsp oil
    - 1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds
    - A pinch of asafoetida (hing)
    - 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
    - 2 tablespoons bisibele bath masala powder (readily available in stores)
    - Salt to taste
    - 1 and 1/2 tsp of sambar powder
    - Curry leaves
    Instructions:
    1. Blend byadagi chillies soaked in warm water for 5 minutes, fresh coconut, tamarind, and bisibele bath masala powder into a fine mixture.
    2. Cook rice, toor dal, and mixed vegetables with salt together until soft (for 1 cup of rice, add 3 and 1/2 cups of water), in a pressure cooker and let it whistle thrice.
    3. In a separate pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds and asafoetida, 1 chopped byadagi chilli, sliced onion, tomato, and a little salt and turmeric powder. Let them splutter and fry for 2 to 3 minutes.
    4. To the cooker with cooked rice, toor dal, and mixed vegetables, add sambar powder, the blended mixture, and the fried ingredients from the pan. Mix everything well.
    5. Adjust the consistency by adding water if necessary. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
    6. Enjoy your homemade bisibele bath!
