You know that moment when someone rents out your studio for 3 hours and you're sitting at the console listening and you're like, "Oh my..." teeth gritting together, but you gotta be supportive and encouraging? You need to run these vocals through pitch correction... badly.
Hi! Just pursached Solaria recently and I'm currently producing a song with her voicebank -- my references are on my channel, but it'd be dope for it to be a collab if you'd like to!
The song itself is done very well, I like it, but it does feel like the lack of tuning and mixing makes this song feel very underwhelming. I really wish that there was some use of vocal modes or manual tuning.
Personally, to give some critique, I think the vocal mixing needs some work. They could use alot more compression, because human voices are very dynamic and this is a sparser arrangement which especially highlights peaks in volume which can get harsh. I also notice phasing at points when they sing together, an especially noticeable example being 2:10, which could be remedied by putting them in different "spaces" through spatial effects such as different reverbs, delays, convolution reverbs, stereo/haas, panning etc. I can see the tuning was meant to be stylistic and I don't even think it's as big an issue as people are insinuating, but the voices could use some different settings to blend in to the music nicer, anri in particular sounds rather uncomfortable in range at points, putting her into a soft falsetto in her high range could fix it, while solaria sounds too strong at points like the part starting at 1:33 and more compression as I suggested would bring it out more so she could also use softer settings.
More than the tuning, the lyrics are a bit hamfisted here and there. Like, 0:46, "su-MER" doesn't really flow well, and again at 1:28, "the BE-ginning", and 1:36, "indulgency" is such an obscure word, just use indulgence. That said, I do like the chorus, and SOLARIA's part at 0:30 is nice, though I feel like it would've been punchier if SOLARIA hadn't been doing the phrase repeating in Anri's part before it. If this is meant to be a demo for something I'd say it requires more work, though. At the very least using some of the voice modes would do a lot.
I'm sorry but who approved this? the song is meh, vocals/tuning are beyond bad (there are even some parts that sound off pitch), mixing is also awful. From what i read, this apparently is for an expo of some sort, ngl, this is def NOT something i'd show off to the public.
Interesting. You're pushing the model outside her range and she consistently goes into her "head voice" and the pitch correction starts sounding really artificial. I would suggest transposing it down a few steps. It sounds like it's in Eb major. Try Db maj. That'll be more in her range and give her more throat in her voice. Also, When she sings harmony, it's too tight. I'd suggest tuning the bg vox to have less expression, and put more reverb on it. Also, the vox needs better compression. Try something transparent that emulates something optical like an LA2A. If that doesn't swing it, then try emulations of Manley or an 1176. The song itself is pretty good. I think the lyrics could use some work, but it's pretty good. Subscribed, and looking forward to what you do next.
People seem to be doing it on purpose, it's like they miss the old vocaloid and they're trying to make these incredible voices sound like that, which is an incredible waste IMHO. Every single example I've heard has some level of exaggerated high or low pitch that ruins the song, except maybe for Cycles (which is awesome). It's just like programming drums with constant 450 BPM double bass just because you can
tbh this had potential. other commenters already pointed out the obvious problems (the most obvious being phasing), and if they were fixed i believe this could be a decent song
Oh... It's... A song. The tuning somehow manages to make them both sound like they are going too flat or too sharp on almost every note, and also somehow achieves making solaria sound bad which is rather impressive, because making her sound bad is rather difficult to do. The song also highlights the quality issues with Anri's voice, which have only gotten worse with the arcane release and the mixing isn't great either... I kinda get the feeling this one was rushed? Like my music is pretty bad, I'm not good by any means, and I can hear the issues in this one pretty clearly, I can't possibly imagine the producer is happy with this.
The other commenters are a little harsh imo. Solaria sounded great and so did the instrumental. the song is a passable 6/10 and would make a decent filler song for multiple of my playlists :) The mixing of the chorus and the tuning for Anri is a little janky but if that was fixed it would be between an 8 and a 9/10
Nah, let's say things as they are. the song is bad and everything that makes it is bad too, tuning, mixing, etc. And if this is for an expo.. this is p shameful..
Wait... For an EXPO!? FOR AN EXPO!? THIS SONG IS GOING TO BE SHOWN IN PUBLIC TO MANY NON-VOCALSYNTH FANS!!?? WHAT THE HELL WERE THEY THINKING!!?? THEY WILL DROWN THEMSELVES.
Hmmm, I know this comment IS harsh, and I support what It says... But, to end in a good note, this shows how much we trust in the quality Eclipsed sounds always produce ✨
@@QieQieQuiche Imo blindy praising like this could give them false hope. It's better to be honest about it if you find bad qualities in a song. If you wanna praise it, maybe say what's good about it instead
instantly a favorite demo, they have so much character!!!! oh my god! when solaria solo kicked in she sounds so sincere and RAW... Holy moly!!! (also what a lovely pair aaa dajhfgbdjshafgbjhdusafo i can't get over this collab at all!! 😭💖)
the melody sound like what would been before I made I love anime song and before I bought a book on music theory. the harmonies are off. they forming the wrong chords. notes jump of passer instead of chords tones.
Horribly sounding! I expected a lot more coming from you two, this sounds like an amateur production made with Pocket Singer... There is no way to defend this song.
I like this, I haven't heard something like this before but I do believe that it is nice to listen to. The repeated jumps in pitch made it feel a bit unnatural to me though.
There's something WIERD artifact effect in the synth voices like "crying" ... This issue is very noticeable in all vocals, like ANRI... The best developers dealing with this problems are the Eclisped Sounds team, but the rest, sorry... you need to work more about this... It's my humble critic wishing the best

Something majorly wrong happened here.

It's a nice collaboration effort for NAMM and I think the MV is really pretty on second view

Two queens singing together ❤

It's not that you are not allowed, but you gotta admit the song is bad.
Any upcoming voices?
The art work is so gorgeous!
Make a death metal voice pack like Marie Ork but that's actually good.
The worst song I've heard with ANRI, Solaria or both. Bad mix and tuning. Anri dies on the high notes
