Why... great question. My mother is a world traveler. My sister and I are both teachers and work hard 10 months a year. Being that my mother had not been to Croatia yet, made it the perfect choice.

@@DronesOverHaines enough for me to think about going there ,except for the air travel time and being scared of delayed or cancelled segments of the trip

Ooh, it's well know travel destination. Country with 4 million population in 2023 welcomed approximately 20.6 million tourists, marking a 9% increase in arrivals compared to 2022. These visitors generated around 108 million overnight stays.
Lonely Planet listed Croatia among the top 10 countries to visit in 2024, highlighting its beautiful coastline, historic cities, most beautiful national park in Europe ...

Mljet doesn't have letter "i" to be pronounced as mill yet, it's close though. Mljet is M as machine, LJ is one letter pronounced like "lli" in miLLIon, E as Effort or Elephant, T as Traffic. Mljet = Mlli-et
Ž like the "s" in the English word "measure".
Š like the "sh" in the word "shoe"
Đ like "j" in the word "joy"
Č like the "ch" in the word "check"
We don't read letter I as ay but as "i" in Impact or Influence, letter E as Enemy so POLAČE is Polache, not Polacheay as Englishman would assume or another funny pronunciation of places with letter C which they read as we read our letter K 😂
C is pronounced like the "ts" sound in the word "cats" or "bits." K is simple as King.
In Slavic languages letters are always pronounced same, one letter, one sound, there's no variations of same letter like in English or multiple letters to represent a single sound, such as the "th" in "the". And many would say our language is hard to learn, but it is certainly much easier to read. 😉
Nice video ladies! It's hell outside with 34, 35C, be careful, wear hat and stay hydrated. Ciao!

Cool information. Curious if you know Tonko from Dubrovnik? He was very helpful with pronunciations and how to read Croatian script. It was my first time overseas in a L O N G time. We will return. Incredible place.
