  • MIT's Building 20, built in 1943, was called the "Magical Incubator" because over the course of its long history it housed a range of laboratories involved in some of the most important and ground-breaking developments in science and technology, from acoustics to radar. This short piece was produced to share at the March 1998 commemoration that gathered former tenants of the building before its demolition in 1998 to make way for the Ray and Maria Stata Center. An exhibit showcasing its history is displayed within the Stata Center (Bldg. 32).

A great building and amazing stories, Jane Jacobs wrote: old ideas can sometimes use new buildings. New ideas must use old buildings.

These kinds of places are truly magical, like TRW's Space park in the sixties. Finally got to see a video of Peter Elias, who was instrumental in the development of information theory during its golden age in the fifties.

Claro está que los edificios o construcciones antiguas tienen historias sorprendentes, como inventos y principios de creación técnica y científica.

If i have understood the video the right way, the idea is to develop an Artificial Intelligence which is able to tell stories about researchers. The plot contains lots of details and is enriched with videos. So it would be an advanced AI which needs the ability of natural language processing.
