Thanks for the review. Just bought une Fleur de cassie today after having it on my to buy list for years!. It really feels from another era. In a good way. Sophisticated and too elegant to care about trends.

A favorite Frederic Malle for me.
I've learned to love vintage classic fragrances, partly from enjoying quite a few Russian Adam classic, antique frags.
I always thought the mimosa is the main floral. A unique floral.

I had the opportunity to buy this fragrance discounted on a recent visit to Hong Kong. At the time, I didn't realize that this fragrance would soon be discontinued. I regrettably didn't pull the trigger.

I'm still new to the fragrance hobby, so I haven't tried anything from Frederic Malle yet. I already know I want to try Portrait of a Lady. I just scored a 100 ml Bond No 9 New Bond St. from TJ Maxx today; I was pretty excited to find that there. I had never seen any higher end niche fragrances at a rack store before today. I already had their sample pack, so it wasn't a complete blind buy. It was $225, so not the deal of the century, but still exciting to see it at the store.
That's probably what the retail should be for those lol but congrats on getting a new fragrance

It will probably last the least amount on your skin .. unless the vintage bottles are different 🤪
unfortunately it lasts for like five minutes but it’s glorious! i spray on clothes and hair when i wear it since it lasts better there
Speaking of Dominique Ropion fragrances, did you know he worked heavily with Nishane on Hacivat Oud?
Bought Hacivat Oud last year and have been loving it. You should for sure get your nose on it. I could send a little decant if you’d like.
What I get on it is Pineapple and citruses, a smooth and very very slightly animalic oud, earthy vetiver, and almost a super dark chocolate note in the background. Then it dries down to a super smooth and woody scent mixed with pineapple on my skin. Very interesting fragrance and one of my favorites of all time.
I did not know that... although nothing surprises me anymore lol
Une Fleur de Cassie to me is Dominique Ropion’s best work for FM ❤ great review as always Rams

I am usually okay with animalic fragrances. I own Salome and can’t get enough of it. But THIS, UFDC, I found utterly repulsive from the first spray. I tried to wait for the dry down to see if it would improve, but I couldn’t stand it and scrubbed it off after an hour. This was a sample from scentsplit, purchased a month or two ago, so likely a new-ish batch. I’m bummed, as I was really expecting to like it!
It's crazy how some folks are utterly revolted by this fragrance 🤣
But different strokes for different folks 🙂

😎 I need to start getting into this brand they’re kinda hard to get here in Australia they have them, but drips n drabs one site will have 2 or 3 then another site will have 2 always seem to be only 100ml which is annoying

if they discontinue this it would be a real tragedy. UFdC is one of my favorite perfumes of all time. i hate EL.

@@RamseytheRam sure thing, your reviews are great. I have like 10 bottles of chanel no. 5 edc so it makes sense i love UFdC. I think the price of UFdC is extortionate too, it's true. and i will say one of my older decants of it smells stronger than my newest bottle but it is equally quick to disappear. To me it's less leather and more skinlike in the evolution of the florals but I totally know what you mean.
