I took the filthy carpet of my GTI to the huge washer at the local laundromat, dried on low setting. Carpet shrunk just a tiny bit and lost a little shape which really didn't matter. But only downside was that it lost a bit of the dark black. It was a good decision for me.

Been there done that, that bloody rubber door conduit is a narrow bugger and even when feeding heavy gauge wire through there with a wire threader, it often tore through the thin rubber bellow. FD's love them but some things Mazda just unecessarly skimped on in the name of compromise. I always wanted to do the new insulation to cut down on unnecessary road noise and heat. Can't wait to get your verdict.

Just my 2 cents, keep the signal wires separated from everything else because you can get feedback which is a pain in the butt in sounds like crap. 💯 and don't scrimp on signal wires, get quality set it makes a difference.
