The boom power goes down as you burn fuel, Scrapman if you review the footage when you're getting ready to blow it up you'll see the boom power going down. You got super lucky with the success as the number was almost lower than 3168
Scrap man you should really try kerbal space program 2 on release it will also have some tutorials and will be good for a beginner in space building. Would be really cool to see you building some stuff. Also you can build planes, cars, rockets, space shuttles, submarines, boats normal rockets and with the robotics also some robots so basically anything you want with a strong physics engine
@@hashy4940 Yeah but are you trying to say that ksp 2 wont have more features than this? Ksp physics engine is much better graphics are better (in ksp2) and much more Features that make ksp superior
We’ve had a rough 6 years in early access with very little recognition for such an amazing game and dev team but now it’s released I think the game can finally take off and hopefully making videos for small channels like us is also more rewarding and gets new people into the game
This game is a natural fit for the channel, if there's some kind of mod to make the rockets look scrappy and held together with duct tape and prayers, it would honestly be 10x better. You should continue this series!
In you timestamp 16:09 you can see above the fuel level bar you can see explosive power and as you use fuel your explosive power goes down. It shows that in the hud while flying.
I've been playing this game for years throughout it's development. Very well made and the devs are dedicated and were very open to feedback from their fans. It's a game I would definitely recommend supporting if you are at all interested in this type of game.
The introduction of more rockety building makes me interested to see your take on what is basically new ground for the channel. I would like to see how Scrapman faces a game like this! I do feel it might be a more little down to earth (ironically for a rocket-building game) and complex compared to some other games played before and so I worry it might not be so popular despite my own interest in this game.
This is a very cool game. I Really enjoyed this video, I like the way you play and edit these types of playthroughs of/in games! Would love to see so much more of this and would work as continues series. : )
After a bit of digging, cause of the design of the ui in the game, and how the building looked, it reminded me of another game. Finding out that this game is made by the same people who did simple planes makes a lot more sense, and im glad to see them doing bigger and better things
I love 2 things that you have changed 1. You have changed added a really nice background to you webcam 2. You have added some variety to your content E P I C
3:51 Kerbal Space Program also has planes and rovers, but they're definitely not the focus of the game, they are locked behind certain other techs, for which you need to use rockets first.
The part of solid rocket fuel being unable to turn off is accurate to real rocket science. Solid fuel boosters go until they run out of fuel, liquid ones can be toggled.
Hey ScrapMan, The reason your rocket wasn’t turning quite as fast in your last launch was because of the force exerted on the fins increases with increasing speed. So when you launched before and tilted Ive way faster, that was because you have significantly less force pushing on those fins. At higher speeds the fins (unless they have controll surfaces) will try to always point you in the direction of travel. BUT the force of air also decreases as you go up in the atmosphere. This so there is a point at which your speed and height make for maximum aerodynamic force on your rocket. This is called “Max Q” in the aerospace world. You can often times hear an announcer calling out max q during a real world rocket launch! P.S. keep playing this game!!!!!!!!
I would love to see this turn into a full series! Also this was made by the same people that made SimplePlanes, and the resizing of parts mechanic is from that game.
Watching someone play Juno with absolutely no experience in space is very entertaining, I was lucky to be blessed with simpler space games before I played Juno
You should revisit Cosmoteer! It's gone through a lot of updates and got an insane amount of content and complexity. I'm sure you would really enjoy it just like you did back when you played it 😁 And of course, I would love to see what ship designs you would come up with!
Scrapman, I suggest you change some of the graphics settings. They make the game look much better and are easy to run. As a long time player of this game I’m happy to see it getting some attention.

So typically, when you want to go horizontal in a rocket, you want to gain a LOT more altitude instead of just sending it sideways off the launch pad. Ideally, going up a bit and then tilting to the side.
The reason you were struggling with explosive power: The explosive power is based on how much fuel is in the rocket. So you made a rocket with 3267 'boom power' when it was full. But then you burned half your fuel getting up to 10km and lost 50% of your boom power.
Fun fact: Prior to it being called this current name, it was previously known as Simplerockets 2. I personally didn't buy it a while back, and now, I actually might.
Hey scrapman, if you don't have a whole lot of experience building spacecraft, and want to get more, I would highly recommend you check you Space Engineers. I've got almost 900 hours in that game, personally, and am still enjoying it immensely.
