- Best guess lyrics:
He's a haggard old fellow with a prominent chin
And every time the sun comes up he's told to begin
With a ?????? he works and abrades his callous hands [With a (accounts? counsel? ???) full of matured pride he works with (a?) blatant calloused hands]
He pushes hard til sundown when he can hardly stand
And he learned how to do it with practice and determination
And no one can stop him 'cuz he heard an inner dream
Our species is careening towards oblivion ever faster
I have the world's problems thrust upon my back
And at that crucial moment I shall liberate the planet
My big wall will be the structure through which nothing else can pass
All the neighbors pass by and they laugh at his creation
They deface his monolithic work, gotta defend his vocation [they deface his model [living day's], work and defend his vocation]
From his ??? trestle [serially weak trestle?], he can hear their uttering
"I'm doing this for you all" he cried, "don't you understand the sanctity it brings?"
He learned how to do it with practice and determination
And no one can stop him 'cuz he heard an inner dream
Our species is careening towards oblivion ever faster
I have the world's problems thrust upon my back
And at that crucial moment I shall liberate the planet
My big wall will be the structure through which nothing else should pass
When his trying task is over, it's time to end his day
He goes to sleep the angels come and this is what they say:
"Build ever higher, work ever more
Don't be distracted by anything until you done your choir"
"Can't you see I'm tired
It's a hundred and five feet tall
I think the time has come
To go and save them all"
Our species is careening towards oblivion ever faster
I have the world's problems thrust upon my back
And at that crucial moment I shall liberate the planet
My big wall will be the structure through which nothing else will pass
And the world will turn as usual

This is really good! With some modification, it could have been a real gem on Generator!
yes! bad religion gems!
Best guess lyrics have been added to the description.
I'm hearing "They deface his monolithic work and defame his vocation" for what it's worth.
Love the guitar riff.
Wowwwww, me dan ganas de romper todo!!!!!!!!
rad
Superior.
The first blank is "complimentary card" I think.
Really cool to hear these 'hidden gems". I still think Generator is their most pretentious album followed by Recipe for Hate, this would have put it over the top.
In my opinion, this song is about a man who's building a church or something like that. Perhaps, he's living in a world of unbelievers, atheists. Or maybe this is about Noah's ark. Any thoughts?
He's definitely doing something similar to the story of Noah's ark, but the lyrics make it seem like he's building a wall to stop the end of the world instead of a boat
Anyone know the lyrics?
The chorus has me puzzled:
"Our species is careening toward oblivion ever faster / I am the world who's problems rest upon my back / and that crucial moment I shall liberate the planet by ????? through which nothing else could pass." Any thoughts?
Jeff Fer "the quality the structure through" sounds like
After planet. “My brick wall will be the structure”.
Any live ones?
these lyrics are nowhere to be found on the depths of the interweb
I get why they left it off, it's a little clunky, still sick though.
Who's the black guy on the right?
is this song about Trump and his wall? srs
bad religion's tribute to donald trump
I think it's more complex then that. This sounds like a Brett song. Admittedly one of their harder ones to interpret. Interesting though.
