No one can be immune to Bei Bei‘s cuteness. His keeper Laurie said "he is so cute" even after caring for him everyday for four plus years. Bei Bei will be geatly missed.
Bei Bei is so cute, so round, so big then with tiny squeaks he talks, indeed So Cute! 🥰 Thanks for taking good care on raising him & making him happy. I hope China will give him his treats & much loving care too & make him happy. Love you our Bei Bei 😘!! 🌸 V from San Francisco
My family & I got to meet Bei (and Laurie) behind the public exhibit area at the zoo, in the keeper area, when he was just a few months old. No barriers and an hour of the keepers' undivided attention. He tried to crawl on us and they had to keep pulling him back. SO hard to believe he's already leaving! It flew by so quickly.
@Shao Kahn Your opinion is irrelevant to me and also has zero bearing on reality. The National Zoo offers this for a price on their site which you could have bothered to look up. Must suck to be so miserable you leave comments like this for fun.
Michelle Baker. Bei Bei’s indoor room in China is a dirty 6x6 cage with old improperly-shaped hammock. Bei Bei can’t sleep in that hammock so he sleeps on the floor.
Where Beibei went is not a zoo, it is a panda sanctuary which is far better than a zoo. Larger enclosure, natural landscape, etc. If you want to check by yourself, you can pay a visit (located in Chengdu). Not all pandas are on exhibition there. Usually pandas who have been on exhibit for years can enjoy their life without the interruption of tourists. Pandas not on exhibition will have even larger enclosures that makes them hard to spot by human eyes. Their life will be close to that in the wild. Less human contact is good for them. They are shy creatures and have no immunity for most diseases that are common among dogs. So no dogs are allowed in the sanctuary.
@@shelvikartaatmaja3307 Not true. Bei Bei's habitat in Bifengxia is beautiful. Lots of trees and lot of room to wander in natural surroundings. They take excellent care of the pandas there.
Really hope Bei Bei doesn't need to go back to China. As he is happy here and he is familiar to the people, food and environment. So moving him away may not be a good idea and may affect his health again. And the breeding program may not be suitable for him. He is precious to the zoo too. So its definitely sad to see him leave.👌👍❤😘🥰😍🤩
He needs to join the breeding program in China to help to increase the size of the panda population. He will be fine in a more natural habitat and find a cute girl friend :-)
For the folks who love Bei Bei, no worries. Bei Bei is going back home, the home of pandas in China is located in Sichuan, Shaanxi, and Gansu provinces. In this area (about 1,524 - 3,048 m), are the cool, wet bamboo forests. The climate is more suitable for pandas, and they're well cared for :)
@@christinacope562 he will be in a breeding facility. Some parts are very good, but I was horrified when a documentary showed a male panda being put in with a female so they could mate. The male panda was very violent. The 'keeper' said, and he seemed serious, that there might be wounds, a limb might be lost (!), but the female would not die., so that was o.k. Apparently in the wild males will gather round the area of a female in 'heat' and will fight one another for access to her, and that will exhaust them so that they are not violent towards her. Bei Bei's mother is, frankly, lucky that she was artificially inseminated to produce her cubs. I will not soon forget that terrorised female when she managed to escape into her own enclosure for a while.
Sad, what is sad.. You took this panda away from his mother at 18 months so you could use her as a breeding machine.. your success rate of live baby pandas is shocking, yes, I realise they are fragile, i still don't believe you have ever had any of their best interests at heart, ever.. You still forced separation from his mother at 18months, he has not been the same sweet baby since, they are captive, that's bad enough, he needs love, nurturing, his mother, not loneliness that ruined his demeanor.. Don't you people see, stop playing god..
And it's so amazing to see how pandas are bringing joy and even healing (i called it "Panda Therapy") to so many people around the world! People in Taiwan are crazy for the panda family which lives in Taipei (the family has just added a new member around a week ago after 6 years of hard work trying). Will start to get to know more about this panda family in USA. God bless them, with much love ❤️
