I know the feels. I did enjoy it on the Dreamcast, with the original. But S3. Yeah it's just a bit more shiny and pretty, but the character designs... Uh. No. And not much happens. Eventually the story unfolds, it just takes awhile. Honestly it's more for those who have been with the series since the beginning. I did enjoy the original, but this series needs to evolve. It is not for everyone. Plus the dialog is off on purpose emulating classic martial arts films.

If you don't like Shenmue as a series the game is probably something you wouldn't like, and it's pretty obvious the lead designer made the game for the fans, not for it to be selling millions of copies. The developers deserve so much respect for that since most other series revivals throw everything out to make it "new" and "better".

"I have never regretted walking somewhere." You have clearly never had to walk to some landmark a good hour away when the person in charge of your group has no idea how to actually get there. Also, it's the hottest day of the year, you have no water, and the route you end up finding is horribly overgrown and ill-maintained from not being taken by anyone in about 50 years.

fun fact: the miniseries anime Pokemon Origins that came out in 2013 actually showed like a bit more realistic pokemon battles. Where they actually had a pokemon bite another and the one that had been bitten released this major scream of pain and anguish that shook me to my soul. They also showed that pokemon do not say their names like in the classic Anime, and that gym leaders choose what pokemon they battle with based on how many badges trainers have when they're faced. Cause they show Brock specifically picking 2 pokeballs out of a grouping of 6. Its a good mini series. You should check it out if you ever get the chance.
Let me break down the appeal of Shenmue games for you - it's Animal Crossing, but for fans of old kung fu movies. Why this is something SEGA and Am2 decided people wanted to play in the first place, I couldn't possibly tell you, but they did, and it turns out, terrifyingly for us all, that for a whooole bunch of us they were 100% correct. It's entirely possible that Yu Suzuki infected me with a mind virus with the first one, but I can't wait to play it
To be honest, you don't need to bait much there. You could probably say "kingdom" with something completely different in mind and Ellen would go to either Kingdoms of Amalur (90% chance) or Kingdom Hearts (the other 10%).

I really like the box mechanic in Sword and Shield. They get healed all the way by nurse joy (this is mentioned by a patron in one of the pokecenters later on) and then there’s the pokejobs that keep them busy and also levels them up!
I was once in a store where around 5 of those noisy chickens were hanging, and I honked them all at at once. That noise will haunt me until the day I die.
I find splitting fire wood to be quite the enjoyable activity, actually. It's a good work out with plenty of good pain, but repetitive enough that you can get a good amount of contemplation and shelf reflection in at the same time.
One really funny random thing I found while exploring was a couple of swimmers. You see I just entered the area when your bike gets upgraded to drive over water and it's a really icy area with snow and everything. Then I went around a cliff side and through some ice burgs and there was some little beaches. I started looking for shiny spots and can across a girl and guy under an umbrella with a beach chair and when you talk to the girl she says "welcome to my secret beach!" She continues by saying she doesn't like the crowds and found this beach to be a perfect spot. Meanwhile her boyfriend is just like "..but it's too cold" 🤣🤣 I just laughed for far too long about it. Straight up snowing and they're just chilling in thier baiting suits
