    Again thank you for this this allowed me to use the BTT SKR mini E3 V3 board. I used the input shaping and it's printing better than I could have imagined. I also used a 4" wave share TFT display on a raspberry pi 2W that opens chromium to Mainsail and it isn't as fast as a phone but works well to fill the void. It went in pretty tight to the bottom but I fixed that by putting frame stabilizer brackets under the bottom cover which provided 4-5mm of extra space i just used a piece of foam to seal the bottom in front. If and when this fails, I will go with the Manta 5 with CB1.

      Hi Patty, Great job getting it all working, board swapping can be a little intimidating at first. Thank you for the info on the TFT display. Did you get it working with Miguel's Professional Firmware or Klipper?

    Using klipper and mainsail per your instructions and I love it. Printing ABS or PC I can slam it into the bed and after the first layer raise it up to a correct height for silky smooth printing. The only issue I have is the TFT specifically Chomium has error reports and several open tabs to mainsail exhausting resources. I have to work through this but everything else is absolutely fabulous.

      Hi Mark, Thank you for commenting and encouragement. I'm glad you found value in the video for your viewing time. Super cool to hear you'r working with ABS and PC. What print surface are you using for them and do you have an enclosure for your printer?
      Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with the TFT display. I'm running Mainsail Klipper on my machines without displays. If I need to be next to printer for some reason I just use my smart phone or tablet to control the printer through the Mainsail web interface.
      Please let me know when you find the solution to the TFT display issue.

    Sir, it looks like the printer is running great. i purchased the Garolite board you suggested but i didn't put it on right away as i have read that material has flatness issues. i had been running a glass bed and that had minor issue with being flat and dimensionally long and wide prints would end up having one edge come up during printing that would mess the whole thing up. as i was sitting there frustrated with a recent print, i looked at the top shelf and there was the Garolite bed. I figured, why not give it a try? i removed the rear stock clips.modified them a bit and reused them (and shorted something on the bottom of the bed while i was at it, luckily there wasn't any damage) i leveled the bed and did a mesh and somehow.......it was flatter than glass? what? really? how? then i started to print the bane of my existence, the frame for my retro chip tester. there was a little blob of filament and normally i can just flick it off real quick, um..nope, this was stuck on there really good. couldn't budge it and i certainly wasn't going to end up scratching the bed trying to take it off. so i left it and let the print run. when i returned from work tonight it was finished and fully cooled and i just gently lifted it off the bed, no muss no fuss. you were right this is a game changer, not a single flaw on that print. i have been trying to print this off and on for months with zero success. thank you again for all your help and all the content of your videos.

      Hi Duane, Thank you for your kindness. I'm glad the custom G10 met your expectations. The product reviews that knock it's flatness don't realize that because of its thickness it conforms to the surface beneath it. Creality aluminum beds are stamped out from large sheets of aluminum so they vary in flatness. My worst aluminum bed is shaped like a Pringles Potato chip in the mesh viewer but that's where the magic from the probed bed comes in to save the day. I totally print with confidence on G10, just start the print and I know it won't have adhesion issues. Enjoy the new print possibilities.
      Have a wonderful day :)

    Thank for the video, sorry i' late to the party. I've tried 8 different time to compile the software. I keep get an error failed when opening the fold to make changes. I have a CR10S Pro V2, I'm going to install a SKR mini 3 V3. and a THT35-3 V3 (both on order) and thought I could use your guide to have the firmware ready when I get the board and screen installed. I have the error messaage copied to Notepad but not sure if I should copy and paste it in a messaage board. I changed the CPU in the My configuration to the BTT board instead of the 4.2.7 the rest I loaded exactly as in you video? Could you give me any pointer? I have no coding experience, but can follow directions

    I realize this is from a while back. Running into a problem here. @16:00 you are running the Marlin Auto Build and you have tabs at the top showing it. I don't have that? You didn't mention how to set this all up.

      Hi Krakenunbound, If I remember correctly you need to have the Auto Build Marlin extension installed in visual studio along with Platform IO. Check yours by opening Visual Studio and clicking on the cog icon (labeled Manage when hovering over with mouse) on the far left bottom. Click on it then select Extensions. The installed extension will populate on the left side. If the Auto Build Marlin and Platform IO aren't there then search for them in the marketplace using the search box above the currently installed extensions. linked below are the specific instructions on where in your project folder to put the files from the configurator tool. Also below are the versions of Visual Studio and Python that I use and currently work to open the Configurator.pyw file.

      @Sensible343 21 день тому

      Given the F4 chip, it’s probably safest to use precompiled firmware or stick to factory. I used the Professional FW with my S1 for a while before attempting to compile my own firmware (which I do for the Pro and CR10 models). After a few tweaks, the motherboard stopped responding and never worked again. I ended up buying a new Creality STM32f401 RET6 for the S1 to replace the bricked board. However, I couldn’t resist tinkering, so I tried compiling Miguel’s professional firmware again, this time with minimal features. Now, I’m convinced that compiling the firmware myself caused the motherboard to fail because this new one is dead too… lmao.
      I’ve compiled Marlin for other printers many times, but if I buy a third motherboard for the S1, I’ll try to resist modifying it… lesson learned, hopefully. I might even pull the sprite extruder and other parts for my other printers just to avoid the temptation of messing with the S1 again. This motherboard doesn’t get past the Creality screen and creates an empty DWIN_SET folder inside the STM32F4_UPDATE folder with the .bin file after a flash attempt… so weird.

      Hello Bikramjeet,
      Thank you for commenting and encouragement. I'm glad you are finding value in the videos for your viewing time. Wow, a CR10 Max, you got the big boy printer.
      Home the printer and then have it move the z-axis down to about 2mm off the bed and turn it off. Place a piece of painter's masking tape directly under the nozzle and mark a little circle on the tape directly under the nozzle. Manually move the print head over to the right side as much as it will go without hitting anything. Place another piece of tape under the nozzle like before and mark a little circle using a pen. If the nozzle is off the bed then place the tape on whatever surface is under the nozzle and make your circle there. lastly measure the distance between the two marks in mms, that will be your max position. Minimum would be zero. Do the same with the Y-axis. Once the firmware is configured, compiled and flashed to the printer you can verify the min and max. Adjustments can be made in the settings section.
      best of luck with your mods!

    Hey, thank you so so much for this video. It has been incredibly helpful as I am terrible with all of this code stuff and it's taken me hours. I did have one question though, do you know how to flash the screen for TJC? I updated the firmware part, but then I tried with the one in the display folder after all of compiling and it only gave me a white screen that said success, but not the orange and then blue screen.

    • @vbared
      @vbared  10 місяців тому +1

      Hi Jenny, Thank you for commenting. I don't have any personal experience with a TJC screen but have been told that it doesn't need to be flashed. The only important thing is to make sure the correct selections are set in the configurator prior to flashing. I believe that a couple of things that might be different is custom icons may not show on the TJC display because it can't be flashed like the DWIN display and the blue and orange flash confirmation.

      Hi, Thank you for commenting and encouragement. I'm glad you found value in these videos for your viewing time.
      Unfortunately, Miguel's Professional Firmware only supports the displays listed in the configurator tool at this time. Miguel does a great job of actively adding new features to it but most of the touch Creality display's aren't open source. Developers simply don't have the access to data they need to incorporate them. You mentioned having an Ender 3, is it the base printer that comes with the green control board or is it the black 4.2.2 or 4.2.7?
