Every time you come out with a new video, I get so excited and then bummed because I’m all caught up. I do enjoy going back and watching random videos. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to a Trip Hacks DC tour (hopefully very) soon.

I've been to few museums in different countries ... I've been in USA for over 25 years, and yet to visit the Smithsonian (and I'm a History major, but worked in the medical field 🤔)... just booked a trip a month from now, and glad I came across your videos !! Thanks!!

My first thought was "Postal Museum!" It is nicely executed, interesting, lots to see, zero crowds and especially good for kids. My 2nd cousin a few times removed has a plane hanging in the middle! (He flew the first airmail flight)
The Portrait Gallery was my absolute favorite museum on my recent trips to DC...plus, their gift shop has the most unique, sophisticated, beautiful yet affordable items of all the Smithsonians. If you go there for nothing but the gift shop, you’ll like it.

I have just found your channel (through Walters World) and have been binge watching you the past few days. My son moved to DC in 2007, so that means I have visited often. I have been to all of these museums you mention here except the Renwick gallery and have enjoyed off the beaten path places. We also enjoyed the National Building museum and Congressional Cemetery to name a few. Thanks, I will continue to watch to find more places to check out!

When I was in DC in November the Renwick had a pretty cool Augmented reality display with tablets to see the hidden art and the rest of the exhibits were really cool too. Would recommend visiting there as well.

The National Museum African American History & Culture. They are still the only Smithsonian museum that refused me entry with my service dog. After requesting supervisor & pulling up the law on my phone we were not only allowed entry but she pulled every worker at the door over one by one to explain the law to them and that worker could have caused a lawsuit. Once we got in we didn't get to see everything, it's far to huge to take in and have a soulful moment with each exhibit in one day. We hit the exhibits my daughter and African American Niece were interested in both because we live in Talbot and Dorchester counties and a family connection to Frederick Douglass. We saw the music room & no surprise this is where they spent most of their time. I was however surprised they didn't stay by the records playing music longer. After that my niece wanted to head to the basement for the slavery exhibit as well as Rosa Parks & Emmett Till. This entire floor I strongly recommend tissues.

The DC Fire Museum located at the quarters of Engine Co. 3 (439 New Jersey AVE NW) is really cool with artifacts dating back to the very beginning of the fire service here in DC. Check it out!

I really wish the Hirshhorn made the list. Probably one of my favorite art museums in the world, filled with the most experimental art projects the art world has to offer. I like to think of it as a mix of the MoMA and the Guggenheim.

It's a good one! It's more popular now I think due to some high profile exhibits in recent years.

I was in DC in June and I loved it so much we went to alot of the touristy places. We actually saw you one night when you’re walking around the national mall. which I found so funny because I was actually saying that i would probably see you when I was there.

Have you done a video on the best places to go to that you should pay money for? examples i can think of are the Ferris wheel, the spy museum, that place where they have celebrities that look real. i keep seeing everyone do videos on free stuff and i know theirs gotta be places worth paying for. and also on that same question, things that are at free places that you should pay for, such as plays or movies or 3d things or rides they have that are optional. my wife and my 11 year old and me are coming in march of next year and trying to plan a budget ahead of time.

Honestly I think if you're going to spend money spend it on tours with local tour companies. There are lots of great experiences to be had. I can't, in good faith, recommend spending money that's leave the local economy to go to the big tourism conglomerates. The Spy Museum is pretty cool though. I'd spend money there.

Loved these museums as well. Just one thing I could not understand, maybe because I am not American, why in the national portrait gallery the president seen the most after Washington is Jackson?
