Your last point reminds me of about a million years ago when I was working with new people in weapons sparring... When you close your eyes, the world moves really, really fast, especially with weapons. You gotta be able to keep your eyes open all of the time. It's amazing how much less panicked you feel when you finally stop blinking constantly.
That's what makes Mayweather's defense the greatest ever, on top of the excellent technique the reason he's such a good counter-puncher & avoided of punches is he never loses eye contact with his opponent - even when getting punched
i swear u always have the perfect video right afer ever spar i have u are the best ill apply each of these i was actualy makeing a list of these exact probnlems i had today
what the fuck.. when is there a fucking break. Gabriel brings out so many top tips... too much to swallow for me. Anyway, I guess I can watch it later.. but since I know it's gonna be good.. hard to do either :) thx Gab. PS: i.e using his warm-up procedure - or parts of it - with the streched fingers as much as possible etc.. works great!
Nice. I Find the biggest mistakes from my students is that they don't turn their non kicking as they kick. The foot stays facing forward , they don't get any stability and fall all over the place.
Plus it means they don't have much power because they aren't transferring the weight(gravity) on their standing foot up through their body & into their kicking leg effectively
Yes this is very common, best way to make them avoid this is explaining that you can have a knee tendon rupture if you dont turn your feet while kicking
Gabriel I think I may not blinking enough or at all! Every time I get bumped in the eye during sparring, I get a corneal abrasion and have blurry vision for at least half a week. I have been to a doctor most times this happens, and they claim there is nothing special about me that would make me more prone to these scratches. Any ideas?
Maybe your chin in not tucked enough. We want to take shots on the forehead. Also work higher hands. But most importantly if you are going to take a flush shot try to use micro movements to roll with the strike.

@GabrielVargaOfficial I will begin working on this now. Thank you. Your content has been a lot of help!
@@GabrielVargaOfficialCanelo is a master at this, he'll roll with the punch whilst getting hit, but it requires great eye contact with your opponent.
The fact that most of the best strikers break a lot of these rules
Yeah, bcs they dont have to worry about it, since their style covers that mistake most of the time
@@raciel_san eh, i think its more they are so good they can usually get away with it. Alex Pereira is a good example.
because a master can do whatever he wants
@@G36-999Alex is overrated
Honestly a lot of them are doing it wrong. Many times they pay for it

I've got the chin rising up, mainly because I always want to look at what my opponent is doing.
