Very nice. Can I ask what stereo/head unit this is? I have a TDI swapped XJ on my channel of the same era, so having a stereo like that would be nice. Thanks!
Why not bmw e53 transmission? Infact you can get m57 engine and transmission intact ofcourse you have to make an adapter to connect it to the transfercase but you will have either 6 speed manual or automatic
I didn't want to cut any unnecessary holes in my console for the bmw gearbox shifter and such. I like this setup. It's not an offroad build, it's a daily driver.
In the 3rd, at around 2600rpm, in the 4th at 2000 and in the 5th at around 1600 rpm. This is what it shows on the dash, but I think the actual revs are higher. Tires are not stock, I run 33x12.5 on 16"
@@thegreengoblin76thanks for the quick repsonse. On the driveline- M57 with i'm assuming DMF019 BMW dualmass flywheel. One needs a custom clutch disc and throwout bearing so the AX15 can be utilized. Is this your setup?
@@miked5789 yeah, that's pretty much it. The clutch is BMW, with the throwout bearing from the XJ mounted onto the clutch disc. I think I have a photo somewhere. But I am planning to switch to a single mass flywheel soon.
@@benedictgrimm5235 I wanted disk brakes on the rear axle, but a conversion kit for the XJ axle was expensive. The Explorer axle together with repair kits for the brakes were half the price of the conversion kit. Plus, the Explorer axle is stronger. I used an adaptor plate to connect the BMW engine to the XJ gearbox.
Well, I had a really good electrician 😁 so, the flywheel and the pickuo sensor are bmw's. The tacho and the rest of the wiring are XJ's. From what I understand, he had to use a signal adaptor. Honestly, I don't know exactly how, he didn't like to talk much ☺️ It's working, but is not very precise. At idle is ok, but as you rev the engine the difference grows.

Thanks! I have another video and in one of the comments I posted the link for the stereo.

Can M57 be matched with the 1995 jeep xj auto gearbox?
I am sure it can, the idea is to make the ECU recognize it. You need a good electrician
Someone did it on youtube if you search enough
Hi.How much money cost to swap m57 in these cherokee
Depends on how well you want the job done. But it's not cheap in any case

Where do the revs sit at 100kmh? Stock tire size?

What transmission did you use?
I kept the gearbox, transfer case from the XJ, but the drive shaft and the rear axle are from a Ford Explorer.

Why did you use Axel and Drive from an Explorer? And How did you adapt the Engine to the transmission?

AX15 ?
Yes
@@thegreengoblin76 thanks 🙏🏼 original clutch
@@enescelik6823no. BMW single mass flywheel with modified XJ clutch disc. I have a video about it
Is this in austria?
No ☺️
ahh sad! Would be sick to have a look at the swap. 🤙🏼
@@Mausstadt100 I will upload a video with more details from during the swap (hopefully, If I ever get around to edit it 🤦♂️)
How did you get the tachometer to work?

Please ask him how it he do😀…
