Another awesome job you’ve completed!!👍 As a maintenance man my boss wanted me to clear off a 1/2 acre hill for more rental apartments. She ordered a new Kubota U27-4 with a cab and heat, which I love but it’s on the small side. But hey, it beats a shovel! I use a 4’ steel beam to cut swales and with the beam cut out on top I can use the bucket teeth and thumb to swing the house to move and level material. Soon I’ll be putting in catch basins, pipe and culverts as well as building a road. When I get everything on grade she’s hiring a concrete company for the building foundations. Lots of work to get done. But I couldn’t do anything if it wasn’t for God. I’m glad I have a Christian boss, too!
I've got a kubota kx057-4..with a 18 inch tooth bucket. For lot clearing and stump removal. I find that works well for handling tree removal. Otherwise I will use 36 inch tooth bucket. Plus a 4 foot grading bucket..When I'm dealing with tree's less than a foot in diameter. I use a ripper on the stumps.. Thanks for all the informative tips in your videos....
I so enjoy your videos, so informative, learn so much, your attention to detail and your work ethic is a marvel to watch! Your skill level on the excavator is exceptional!
In my pecious profession we had a smaller excavator (Bobcat e35i) that we had a 24" tooth bucket and a 36" smooth bucket. I found that if I couldnt cut with the big bucket I would switch to the tooth bucket and "rough in" what I needed then chase finish grade with the smooth face. And as far as load outs of loose material the smooth face was the only way to go. It would take 10 minutes to load 3 yards of material! Unfortunately we didn't have the tilt coupler but regardless I could rock that little excavator!
We took a page out of your book Todd and made our channel commercial free for the upcoming snowstorm. Hopefully like it did for you it will attract more subscribers 🤔 That 4 foot bucket is going to be perfect for you. Looks very well-built 👍🏻
Enjoying your videos. I have a micro mini-excavator and all my big contractor friends want to borrow it. Figured maybe there is a market there. You have taught me a lot. thank you
This weather's killing me! I usually wake up early and watch UA-cam until Jenn gets up on the weekend or time for work during the week. I've had to get out and plow ever since this video came out. I'll get through it eventually.
I’ve got a yanmar VIO 50 and I use a 48” grading bucket on it Works great . My favorite machine I own is ASV 120 forestry package with a 72” prinoth forestry mower on it
I enjoying all of your videos. I like all the information and details.im getting ready to start my own excavation business and I've been learning alot from you .Thank you for your videos
Got a TB235 and a tilt grading bucket. Still getting used to it. The geometry is a good bit different from the regular bucket but its a game changer for sure. My other favorite thing is a 10' I-Beam that I use as a grading beam. Just grab it with the thumb and plane things off till its as smooth as a pool table.
I love my hydraulic top link! Saw one on your tractor and thought why the hell don’t I have one of those!? Not very expensive at all. Favorite attachment... is the one that’s making money that day! 😉
HI, saw you on live with Mr. Dirt Perfect yesterday, I reale like this format of filming. Very good explanations of what your about to do, and the combination of timelaps and realtime is nice. Looking forward to see more. (I'm doing landscaping in Norway).
You might have to explain the 1980’s commercials with Ernest so your viewers will understand the “You know what I mean Verne?” saying. You said it when you were putting tape on the culverts.🤣
So ... I've been watching this exact same content for years on UA-cam, but they've NEVER recommended your channel until I saw it randomly pop-up today. Maybe they should spend more time and money on upgrades that would better serve their customer, instead of banning and censoring them into oblivion for wrong-speak-think. But hey, what do I know... I'm not a tyrant. Anyway - glad I found your channel. [SUBSCRIBED]
If got the same bucket on my Deere 50G. I’m still trying to figure out a trick to connecting the hoses without having to crack the lines at the cylinder to relieve built up pressure. Any trick to it?? This is going to be my favorite attachment once I really get to use it.
What size is the biggest rock in your road bond? In Alabama where I am, they call it CR (crusher run). We can buy 3/4 cr or 1&1/2. The material that has to be a certain mix and certain % moisture they call pug mix. Used right under new payment of chip seal. Thanks.
I've got a Kubota KX-057 and the bucket manufacturer is recommending a 48" bucket for it. I think its a decent amount smaller than your machine? Anyone know how it'll handle it?
I agree... I went ahead and spent the extra on the Stabila with tilt capability and it’s been fantastic. But the best laser accessory I just recently purchased, was the large magnetic laser receiver that I can put anywhere on my excavator or skid steer... makes grading so much faster and easier.
Should have packed the other way on your last go cause water will hit your track marks and will start making water ways. That’s what happened to me ONCE and only ONCE.
Love your “Broadcasts” 👍🏻 we would love to know the make and model of your grading bucket. We just bought a KUBOTA KX087-4 and have been looking for a tilt grading bucket. Sorry about Marvin, Keep the videos coming. Thanks in advance Glenn Christian from Beaver Creek Land Management.
Like others, you randomly popped up when I was looking at grading/gravel work examples on YT, and BOOM!.... I watched a bunch and quickly subscribed. You are very good for us beginners ;) I wish I had the money to afford an excavator like that, but alas, I'm stuck with a Deere 1025R with a box blade, tiller, rake and other attachments. That parking area came out GREAT! I'm doing a culvert for the swail in the road leading to the property, then a gravel driveway and also a parking area down here in South Florida in the next few weeks. I don't have as much slope, in fact, it is almost completely flat, but have very sandy soil..... I'm curious, what fabric do you put down? Also, would you recommend asphalt tilling? Thanks! Keep the videos coming.
I really want a grading bucket for the mini, I have a new track loader or skidsteer and have a grading bucket with cutting edge, don't know if I should still get one
Yes you should still get one. I use my grading bucket on my mini more than any other bucket. Even If the ground is hard or rocky and you dig with a tooth bucket the smooth one works better when it’s time for backfilling and cleanup etc
I have a question. Is it more cost effective to just have a transfer truck or truck and pup bring you gravel instead of you making several trips? Seems like it would keep you on site more plus less wear on your truck. Just curious
In one of his videos he broke it down and the cost was less to have it delivered because the jobs distance from the quarry, my personal opinion is having a couple easy days mixed in to the week of just hauling material is a nice change of pace and you can also dump it how/where you want it... need to own the truck to haul the equipment anyway so might as well get some use out of it and keep all the funds in your own pockets during the slow season
why have you left track marks on it....... would it look better if you ran your bucket over it to smooth it over..just asking lol as always a great video, keep them coming.
Looking good man! How thick do you typically go with your base? And I think the Yanmar controls have a lot to do with smoothness because they are very touchy. I've found I almost have to run mine with just the fingertips to keep from "man-handling it."
Killing it! I'm happy to see the combination of time lapse and talking/realtime.
He did a nice job recording 👍🏻
So great to watch this and enjoy+
I like clearing tree's with a ripper. It's easy to load the chipper and take out the stumps.

I love my 305E2 with my 51” ditching bucket. I can clean ditches and ponds all day!! Love it!
The audio sounds great! Enjoy your "Broadcast"
The time-lapse really shows your bucket skills. Enjoy watching your content.
Looking really smart, good job Todd

Iam suprised you don't have a ditch bucket, because of how many coverlets you do ? Would make that part way easier

Komatsu 400 lonng stick was my fav, but iI was in pipe business enjoyed your vid

Nice work i would just love to have a piece of equipment like that and that bucket is like whaaaat

Hi this is John what would you buy if your yanmar had to be replaced?

What year and size is your yanmar excavator
What brand of tilt bucket do you have ? Thanks
With your tilt bucket did you have to change anything on your joystick s to operate it?
If I had a 299 be skid steer with a a caterpillar 308 excavator 6in bucket and I had no problems
I've got a Kubota KX-057 and the bucket manufacturer is recommending a 48" bucket for it. I think its a decent amount smaller than your machine? Anyone know how it'll handle it?
What are you calling Road Bond
Hey Todd, Another great video! Thanks for sharing. What brand is the tilt bucket?
How many tons can you haul in your dump truck? I'm thinking about getting a single axle myself
Have you tried "the amazing tile tape" it's great stuff for drainage
Todd you need a grade system or at least a rotary laser it will pay for itself the first time you use it..
I’ve told him that for a year now they are $800 bucks out the door at our local laser shop
I got a bosch kit I paid about 500 no slope function but it was the only one in stock here locally.
I agree... I went ahead and spent the extra on the Stabila with tilt capability and it’s been fantastic. But the best laser accessory I just recently purchased, was the large magnetic laser receiver that I can put anywhere on my excavator or skid steer... makes grading so much faster and easier.
You understand drainage, most people don't.
The mic makes a world of difference. There's still some distortion of your voice but at least now you are understandable. Thank you.
Should have packed the other way on your last go cause water will hit your track marks and will start making water ways. That’s what happened to me ONCE and only ONCE.
Do you use woven road fabric?
Hi Todd. Just wondering where do you buy your rolls of mat you use? Love the videos brother keep them coming

Legally I can haul 9.25 tons

What's the plastic you used called and was it expensive? I live in TN so prices might be different.
