As a 14 year old, I played this album to death 😀 and I started playing the box. Great to hear it again (without the scratches!), still one of my favourites.
Thanks for continually posting your SDB items,Avino. Not only interesting for insiders, but also for others who remember this music, once so popular.Among the older modern bands was Iain MacPhail and he supported the developing modern bands, such as Alasdair MacCuish' Black Rose CB.The latter now on the top! Followed by Tom Orr,Gordon Shand,Craig Paton and recently David Kennedy. Time might be ripe for a worldwide revival! (not necessary in the US,Canada and New Zealand, having never had a slump/standstill in the scene) Despite BBC....Scottish Dance Music lives ONNNN!!!! And I have made my modest contribution to that!
Although Alasdair MacLeod from Tobermory plays bass on this classic recording, he couldn't have been available for the photo call, and I believe the guy next to Alan Johnstone is the late Danny MacPhail, Iain's brother (a dance band drummer) although I never met him. If the jacket fits...............
Hi their I was wondering what the name of the dance is that is played from 10.18 to 14.06 and the tunes that are played as I would love that one specific tune in single format if possible ?

A great sound with both accordions playing the melody. I grew up with Alan Johnstone who played fiddle in the band but sadly died very young.
Yes! I've been after this for ages
thanks !!!!
