Dopest sled build ive seen yet. never thought it would work. Whoever gave the 4 thumbs no need for it. Awesome job man. I thought about doing a swap for my RMK 900 but ended up rebuilding it instead.
I have a 680 ultra that i would like to make a big bore and a machine shop at my disposal i would love to do that if i had spare time. That was some beautiful work there you did i love them old trips.
I always bought ski-doo and like all makes had troubles and good luck. In 1997 I purchased a new Mach 1 700 triple with triple carbs and triple tuned pipes. 140 hp fastest sled i ever had, But I also had to replace the crank 3 times. The work was done by reputable speed shops.
I love Triples I have my 1997 XC600 with the SLP billet high compression heads. She moves! and the sound with my DG Pipe is just amazing but I've wanted the newer chassis and I keep thinking of a swap like this! Great video! Can't be as bad as putting a 3.4 v6 in my 69 Opel GT. Awesome build! I want to do this with a storm 800 triple now lol
did u loss power from cutting up the pipes and making them fit? i feel like each cyl would be making different horsepower because the pipes are "un-tuned" now.. just wondering cause i was thinking about re configuring my dragon pipe, did a 09 dragon 800 swap in mine but just ended up buying a 2001 rmk 800 slp pipe.
Bryan Timms no as long as you dont remove any length/material from the pipe. with mine i cut them and turned them at the cut to fit, and then rewelded them. essentially they are the same exact pipe, just turned
Josh hasbrook yeah thats true but the rebending in the pipe could distrust the sonic wave or whatever its called, hence the tuned pipe, idk maybe it wouldn't effect it all the much! Thats awesome tho stilll have the sled?
Nice. That came out sweet. Nothing like the sound of a triple. Was that the 670cc?? Sorry I’m a arctic cat guy. Nice build. I moved down south but I’m missing my sleds right now. Bout to build another thunder cat and just put a asphalt track on it just to get that brappp back in my life. I miss ditch banging the most.
okay that thing is sweet! I have a 2001 Yamaha srx 700 triple and its been in the family since the day my dad brought it home in 2001. It sat for 4 years in the garage just collecting dust. One night i was like dad lets get the old thing runner and sure enough about 2 hours later it started up and i was like this i will never sell this sled. We have 4 brand new Cats and the old Yamaha that never gets ridin any more so I have been thinking of ways to do something with it and i just stumbled upon this video and was like i know what to do with it. So my Question is how much work was this build and was it hard and how much did it cost you for extra parts. And how well did the engine fit in the chassis.
+Ryan Patterson it takes alot of mods to get it to fit, have to move the motor mounts, you need a custom motor place, custom bracing on the frame, custom pipes, custom cooling hoses, ect. there is well over 100 hours into this
Finally, No Qwe're uplifting music...

Where can i find more videos of this beautiful beast?

Triples sound the best.
Great video man
Awesome effort to trick it up.
That is one crazy mod!!! I own an ultra..i can only imagine the places u can take that...nice job
Awesome fabrication!! True craftsman :-)
Thats a sick build man!
How’d you get the front end on the ultramod I up, i want to raise mine up but dont want anything to break
Was a 96 xcr600 chassis. Installed some fresh fox shocks for the xtra 10 and that way the ride height.

I dont think the bend affects the tuning. Maybe it loses 0.5hp compared to a straight pipe or something.
yes i still have it.its all tore apart right now but will be back together soon
can u load a video of the ripping and riding!
james guralski what do you mean?
He/we want more video of it in ACTION, holeshots, birm blasts, ditch banger hillbilly deluxe.....sorry, it’s the 2stroke talkin.

Yes 680cc ultra
dose the iqr 680 trip go fast ?

Hey just be careful about those plastics the pipes may melt them
Find me on Facebook I got a few questions for you about your sled the thing is insane man props to you 🤙🏽
should of made a video of you riding it ? or it dose not run right and over heats ?
speed 700 havent had a good winter here in 3 years so i havent got any riding in
is it fast ? and did you do any porting to the motor ?
speed 700 its geared for low end (19/43 gears) tops out at about 80mph. but it has wicked acceleration.
nice ! would about clutching and jetting ?
19 43 gears 2.26 ratio way to low s should go 20 40 ratio 2. or 21 41 gears ratio 1.95
Did you have another UA-cam account that Ultra Looks Very familiar.
+Inline Performance yes i did, it was Foxracer93 but i lost acess to that account a while back for some reason.
Josh hasbrook Yeah I Remember that Account. Was a Awesome sled.
Kicking myself for parting it out. Everyone who saw it said it was the nicest wedge chassis they had ever saw
I Recently Built a Pro x triple got the vid on my page. Just going to see if I can finally fit triple pipes under the hood.
I didn't think that a triple would fix without a couple mods

That is sweet
Should have done a big boar on the 440
should put black header paint on ur pipes
Would have been faster to upgrade the indy suspension than all that work on an ugly IQ chassis, nicer bodies as well, still a for effort.
I'm sure the rider-forward IQR rides a lot nicer
Why? Just the sound? An XCR would make more power.... a 700 or 800 twin would make the same/more power...
biro753100 currently swapping the xcr 800 in. used the ultra jist to get it mocked up until i could find a xcr
next step put xcr 800 engine......25 30 hp more than 680.....
western star truck that is the plan. i have the motor and almost everything i need. need to pick up a welder and a few small things and it will happen
Actually a 680 with slp pipes makes 145hp , xcr 800 is 155hp stock but I’d still go with the 800
Oh and you can swap the stator and brain box from the xcr 800 to the 680 and send the box to Polaris for remapping , gain another 15hp
Good friend of mine has a pro stock ultra runs 134mph in 1000’ ft
Wasn't the Ultra engine kind of a hunk of shit ? i bet a liberty 600 twin has better power than the Ultra .
Darrell Doran no. monoblock 600 triple (xlt motors) are what gave the triples a bad name. 680 ultra is a fantastic platform.
Darrell Doran also 600 HO twin is 113-115 hp. ultra spx is 130-135hp
