You really shouldnt put your gear down during an emergency landing. Especially with tail draggers itll greatly destabilize you and increase your chances of flipping. Even to this day many emergency landings are done with gear up, though its less common as many airliners have very durable level-set gear and have jet engines that can catch fire or detonate if they drag on the ground.
The 262 is probably the only aircraft in IL-2 where emergency landings would be safer with gear down
