You haven't been watching Cleveland's starting pitching lately They are below 500 over last 25 games. I would imagine a home game with Flaherty pitching the betting line was even or Tigers favored. It would be nice if Flaherty is pitching on Cleveland soon they could use him. As Guardians fan it's great we played out of our minds to start the year it's built us a lead. We are going to need minimum 2 new starting pitchers and a veteran bat at the deadline to hold off the Twins or worst case get the wild card. The Twins if they can keep Lewis and Buxton healthy big If they become a way better team
The only bright spot in this game for the Guards, the HR robbery by rookie CF Angel Martinez. Fairly new, acquired Cleveland SP Howard from the Giants for cash, was a frickin' stupid move by both Antonetti and Chernoff. 3 innings pitched and gave up 4 runs. Damn!!!! The Cleveland pitching was so bad, back\-up C Austin Hedges had to pitch so no more RP would be used in this nightmare of a game for the Guards in the disappointing series loss. The starting pitching and especially the offense was very bad vs. DET; (3 out of the 4 losses) with no consistent hitting with RISP. 🤔🙁
Why is really so hard for this teams owners to go and get at LEAST, TWO good solid starting pitchers year after year?! The bats alone are not going to get them a world Series win no matter how delusional we are! This game was beyond pathetic
It's only a matter of time before the Guardians become sellers at the trade deadline instead of buyers. The Dolans don't like to spend money and they love to trade away talent.
Guardians pitchers were like they had just been called up ftom a single A minor league team in last place. Hedges was throwing pitches like a dad throws to his 10 year old son for batting practice. 🙄. The guardians are doing the best they can with what they've got which is often not much at all. There are a lot of injuries out there and not many good pitchers available to be traded.
