@@MikesGourmetKitchenLol Mike do you want to hear a funny but seriously bad story about the day I wrote that comment. Well I opened up a pack of Sago I had bought for quite an expensive Indian food shop in Tallin Estonia. It was packed in Italy according to the pack. And the smell of the Sago was one of Chemical Fertilizer pellets as farmers use...no joke. I noticed as soon as they hit water. The smell was so strong that it would not clean off my plastic mixing bowl. Having only heard stories of plastic pellets in rice from China I never imagined I would find what seemed to be something other than sago in a pack sold in the EU. So sadly, I never made my sago pudding. Luckily I found some safe sago in my cupboard re-shuffle. So I hope to be back to your recipe soon. All the Best ;)
Ok do you make more stuff like anything, trifles , cupcake, cakes , salads, roast chicken, pies , sago pudding , baked cheesecake, bake milk tart etc etc
Thanks im not sure if u from Cape town south Africa, thats where im from an heres its sooooooo cold with sooooo much heavy rain that i was looking for nice something different baked desserts ( in winter) i bake my usual ones which is cakes : , carrot, choc , vinalla , banana but i felt for something different ( baked) an i felt for something simple so i came across sago , its just a pity i never saw yours first , had i saw yours first i would try yours as yours got toooo little eggs so anyways i saw sago pudding and that person used 6egg and 1 tablespoon custard powder with 1litre milk ( so yours is only bit different from hers) nonetheless I did describe to her my bowls and i asked her do i use big bowl or small but she never bothered to get back to me so i used my small glass square pyrex dish/ tray/ bowl an i must say it rise well an it was yum , il definitely try yours out , i really don't know why some people just don't like to share their knowledge with others
Hi Leigh always a pleasure and thanks for watching ! When doing a condensed milk option add the co densed milk when boiling the milk just remove about 100ml 😀🔥
@@MikesGourmetKitchen Thanks Mike. I have just come back from the kitchen where I went to soak the sago. I have a gang coming up to the farm so your advice has come in the nick of time. Very excited! Thank you so much
@@MikesGourmetKitchen well it seems we now have a new family favorite Mike. As a South African you will know about load shedding and as such I am new at cooking with gas and will need to get a heavier based pot for any milk based recipes. Thanks again.
Hi Mike lyk heerlik. My ma het altyd klontjies appelkoos konfyt bo op gesit, en dan n meringue gemaak en daar bo op gesit en gebak, met lekker vla daarby, ek maak dit ook so.
Thanks sooo much for instant feedback , anyway im sooooooo really sorry , my general knowledge is soooooo bad so i never caught on wat u said, u mean il take my big bowl?
Hi i dont know my sizes but i know i have 2 glass pyrex square tray, an i know the one holds over 1 litre water under 2 litres water an other hold over 2 litres water under 3 litres water so shall i use big tray or small an also does this go in fridge after baked
Hi @mehjabeenjable3632 you can use the 2 Liter Pyrex bowl they seem to be the standard size that we always use. You can refrigerate after bake if you prefer to eat it cold, but its normally best served hot 😀
Hi Lynita , apologies there was a portion of the video removed due to a music copyright claim , you can add one can of condensed Milk while boiling the milk 😃
😂 im trying this and i used tapioca pearl sago.. well i tried to soak them and they started to disintegrate into the water 🤷♀️.. I did not give but.. 🤷♀️😁
There's two types. One is made from the stem of cassava (probably the one that you had) and the other from the root. To cook that one just place directly in boiling water :)
Hi there Lani , yes sweetened condensed milk , you can add one can when the milk boils , we removed a section of the video that showed this due to a copyright claim on some music, enjoy 🔥
@@MikesGourmetKitchen Thanks! I was watching your video exactly because of the condensed milk! Super Thanks for responding! It worked out great nonetheless!
Why did you add your eggs to that very warm mixture? It looks as if it had curdled. I've never witnessed anyone doing that before because all cooks advise one NOT to add eggs to a warm, or hot mixture. You should temper it first.
Hi Gloriana 😃 we let the mixture cool down slightly to prevent the eggs from curdling , and ee try mix it in almost immediately to prevent poaching the egg , if it was very hot it would curdle straight away
Thank you Mike! Love the SA recipe videos, please keep 'em coming!

There was no condensed milk whatsoever in that recipe????
