Ayat Al-Kursi Arabic Calligraphy Design | Timelapse Oil Painting video #30

Original oil painting on stretched canvas, this Arabic Calligraphy depicts the 'Ayat Al-Kursi' (Arabic), also known as 'The Throne Verse' in English. It is a Quranic verse which speaks about how nothing and nobody is comparable to God. This is one of the well-known verses of the Quran and is widely memorised and displayed in the Muslim world.
The work on this piece was done in two stages. First the border and the background was done with intricate details. I selected the palette while I was working on the painting and made few changes along the way. Once that was complete and dried I started the calligraphic work on it. I wrote the verse roughly on the painted background first so that it is perfectly aligned and to fit it in three lines. Then I did the calligraphy with oil paint.
