Being the beginner I am i jumped to this video, after the first one, like I was told not to. Just bought a violin last week(before I read a violin is the hardest instrument to learn) and I have been having fun. By the way enough about me. Just wanted to thank you for making your lessons.

Roger Leo It can be easy (and fun!) to go head-first into something new, take it one step at a time though! So happy you are liking Fiddle Hed!

I think that is so awsome to see someone keeping real true sincere music alive and playing it like the folks did back in the late 40s and 1950s when people played their instruments from the heart and wrote from the heart. i am very interested in taking the fiddle up. i already play acoustic guitar, electric guitar, banjo, bass ,and lapsteel. keep those fiddle videos comming brother thanks. Curtis Fritts.

I think you are doing great Jason! I've learned 12 tunes via "FiddleHed" since I started on 10th of Jan. You and I seem to be on the same page. Thanks and keep up the good work!!

So I'm a HUGE Hank Williams Sr fan, I'm a sophomore band kid up in Kentucky, I was just wondering if you would be able to put up a video for "I heard that Lonesome Whistle Blow" or maybe an Alabama tune or something. I really appreciate the work you do on here. This UA-cam channel is one I always have my eyes on for learning new things!

    Mr. Fiddlehed,
Yes, I'll be your huckleberry and let you know how it's going. I think your length of videos are spot on because in my opinion they're tailored to meet the needs of each song. As with this video being longer than the corresponding song video because there is more to demonstrate. It's honestly one of the first things I dug about your lessons. Yes, there are things your not showing that I would like to see. For instance with this video the tune starts on a g sharp in the Key of E.(I'm nervous if I'm right or wrong) For me knowing the melody starts on the third note of an E scale helps with interpreting what I hear, so I can translate my mind's ear to my hands. Another reason I like that kind of information is with trying to do a harmony lone behind a singer. I would have an initial color to paint my back up. Like, I would know not to play that note. Rather I'd be playing three or five notes above or below that melody note. For me it would also help with transposing in case I get to a session and the singer performs in a different Key.(such divas) How about a simple vocal rhythmic primer like your tab fingerings. Like ONE two three or a vocable. Maybe showing or telling the chords that go along with the notes your teaching. Yes, I use the play along track. However, when using the tracks I'm not confident in my rhythmic accuracy. I'm still developing that musical foundation. No, I haven't used the rhythm track to spark my brain to remember a melody. Yes, I love the technique videos. I personally don't play note for note or bow for bow like how you teach. I try to add my own flavor. Yes, I would dig more content focusing on technique. Lastly I'm drawing a blank on how to would improve my learning experience with your videos.
    Later from South Lake,
    Mr. Cosmos

Can you please do a beginner, intermediate and advanced lesson of June Apple?

OK, I put this on the request list.
Because this is a free channel I only have so much time to devote to creating videos and content. Which means I only get to the things that have many requests or that seem really essential, and only when I have time outside of paying gigs.
If I started to do this full time I could keep up with all requests but it would mean Fiddlehed would become a subscription service. Would this interest you?
      Thanks for watching Fiddlehed!
      Your feedback is appreciated!
      Cheers!

+FiddleHed I would pay a monthly rate. $20 a month. Obviously that's just me though. I think you're a great teacher and I really appreciate the songs where you start with the beginner lessons and then ascend to advanced over the course of three videos. It's the best way to do it and you clearly put a lot of time and effort into it. If more people knew about these lessons there'd be a lot more fiddle players out there. Please don't stop making videos.

BeanusBakeus, did you know we have a FIddleHed Facebook page? There is a request event going on there this week. Go there, look for the post about the request event and list June Apple. If it is in the top five, it might be the next video.

These videos have taught me a lot and have made it very easy to learn violin, however I do not have a very good quality violin. What violin model do you have and where did you get it?
