Well, a former Christian Evangelist said Republicanism goes hand in hand with the religion. She said it didn't matter what amount of facts people said or showed, they believed their beliefs as the real truth, and Democrats, and Liberals were brainwashed. So they have to see things unfold for themselves to truely understand that they are living a lie. If Dems tried to block them, MAGA would continue toexist without seeing what they caused

I just heard this phrase today: "Don’t get between an alcoholic and their bottom." Sometimes it's better to step back as opposed to stepping in. Not every lesson is ours to learn.

It is really is hard sometimes watching the slow motion train wreck waiting for "the bottom". Sometimes the your phrase the "bottom" is "6 feet down" (meaning the person dies first). I hope we can all be ready when the time comes.

I really, really, needed to hear this. I did. I am growing frightened by the potential damage looming in our futures. Letter writing and protest marches only go so far. I need to hear that there are people in positions of power that can and WILL resist, push back, deny, and counter all they can with what they have. I love my country. I dont want to leave. I don't w a nt to remain frightened.

They should. However, I do believe the GOP will keep throwing around a Sophie's Choice dilemma at the other party, this time around. With so many powers under their control, they'll do some pretty mean stuff when a budget is on the line. They'll likely take it to the line where the decision is to save one of those, but at the cost of the entire shutdown to happen, the economy to fall, and everybody suffers quite quickly. It would be pretty bad.
Now maybe, the clear thing is in order to protect that, to allow the GOP to do the awful thing, have a bunch of us out of work (I'll likely be part of the people not receiving a paycheck, just that quickly) And note that they'd have to do an immense amount of work and cheating to not get completely decimated in the Midterms. The voters would just have to survive the nation-wide poverty time. In the meantime, I do want them to stand up for all of those things and call the GOP's potential bluff.

Then there is the matter of the MINIMUM DUE DILLIGENCE of the DEMS to do a recount and start an investigation into the stolen election, or goes anyone here ACTUALLY believe that the MAGA wet dream of Trump winning ALL swing atates, the popular vote and the trifecta is legit???? As a disabled person dependent on Social Security who also lives in a red state, I'm genuinely terrified of the economic uncertainty going forward. I hate that some many ignorant people decided they were informed enough to vote and decided to vote for a candidate solele because he was screaming the loudest and validated their hateful beliefs. I hate this entire situation, I just hope the Democrats take the right lesson from this and build the party back stronger and quit pushing further to the right, it won't help them any to do so.
