Ultravox - Live In Concert Original Radio 1 Broadcast Including Support Band.

Recorded live at the Paris Theatre on January 14th 1981 for the BBC Radio 1 series "Live In Concert".
This classic performance, although in a slightly edited form, was released on CD in 1992 as "Ultravox Live In Concert 1981".
The compère for the evening was Gary Crowley. The support was an up and coming group called Fatal Charm (who had also been the support act for Ultravox during previous shows in the tour). Fatal Charm later went on to release the excellent single "Summer Spies" in 1984 (link below).
The original source for this particular recording appears to have been an FM radio, a tape recorder and a C60 cassette. I say C60 because sadly a section of Mr X is missing at around the 31 minute mark (didn't all cassette recorders run a little fast or slow back in those days...) I could have substituted this with Mr X from the CD release, but I wanted to keep everything here as is.
On this original broadcast version we have Gary Crowley introducing the show and the support act. Fatal Charm then play some rather good songs. Then we have Mr Crowley again with a very brief bio before announcing Ultravox. Here we have the same tracks as featured on the CD but with longer gaps between songs and Midge introducing "Passing Strangers" which apparently "failed miserably" (you can actually hear the disappointment in Midge's voice).
Annoyingly "Corporal" Gary Crowley talks over the last 30 seconds of "Astradyne". But it's actually interesting to hear how the BBC transmitters swapped and changed between VHF and medium wave back in the day. Does anyone else remember that?
