Right now Leo Fender is looking down at the Surfrajettes, smiling and nodding his head as if to say "Yeah, that's what they're supposed to sound like."
The Trashmen would be impressed. Swimming in reverb, these girls are incredibly good. Hope they come out with a full length album soon with some original tunes.
I was going to suggest that the Trashmen version (recorded, not the live video) is superior. The Surfajettes pay homage to the T-men by borrowing their guitar breaks.
They look and sound amazing. Really can't get enough of The Surfrajettes. I have a bit of a sweet spot for the cougar bass player. Shame this vid cuts off early.
I am a guy. I think these girls play super well. I love the music. I also love those girls. It's a win/win situation, I'm also kinda old😔. But maaan what a scene, what a scene.
And they are from Toronto Ontario Canada. I went to Las Vegas on vacation, and I brought back a souvenir with me, specifically because, despite being a souvenir sold in Las Vegas, it was manufactured a mere mile away from where I live in Toronto Ontario Canada.
There was a great British female group like The Surfrajettes called The Crickettes. Sadly they split up. I don't know why. Their lead guitarist Zoe McCulloch now plays solo and teaches guitar.
Double musical notes, sometimes on the guitars and the bass. Concerning the bass I am still not sure if I hear ghost notes. But there was another video, I thought I would see it in the movements of Sarah's fingers of the right hand. Certainly you can simply enjoy the music :-).
Spring reverb yes! I never and use digital reverb unless I want that reverse thing; another subject. These girls are tone babies/Ladies. Real spring Reverb!
Shapeshifters brought a kit from down the block at Area 51… Now just the facts (Jack Webb): The Hypnotiques (LV) opened, then The Greasy Gills (Oakland)-who were gracious enough to loan their kit to the loves of everyone’s lives.
Every video I see of them the rhythm guitar is turned way up and you can barely hear the lead guitar. It's clear the rhythm guitarist is the leader of the band. Why doesn't she just play lead? She also stands right in the front like she's the showcase. This band needs a manager.
This is an incredibly tight band. Excellent. 🎸
tight band.. if you are untight with something like that then leave it rather to make music

The bass player is awesome as well ...
Plus Anna's drumming.
She definitely is. Check out her work with The Millwinders. Very strong vocalist and plays a mean upright bass too.
Shes fantastic
Nicole and Shermy call and answer friggin awesome

Literally 3 seconds @ the end…
Remind me of my old High School Mates Reid Diamond and Brian Connely... Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet,,
I just watched another video and somebody stood in for her and I was devastated.

Great capture, Rupe! Saving it. Thank you, bub.
I know everyone is keen on Shermy, but that bassist is highly underrated.
Oh no she's not underrated - I rate her very well.

Do you have any more from this gig Rupert as your's is the only clip I can find.
Almost exactly a year ago...who could ever have guessed.
That’s all the footage I took of this gig.

Amazing band. plus I love the Bass player Tall with attitude.Only if she were single
I want that glittery Jaguar guitar only left hand which they do not make. Lefties get well 'left out' of a lot of equipment.
Thet don't make Shermy's Jag either, you could build one yourself like she did.

@@chrisst8922 I know they don't. I have been thinking of building my own but have not found the right one yet. Thanks for info.
How come the bass drum says "The Greasy Gills?!"

Sweet alright
Would somebody please sing!!
There’s other Malagueña(s) w/lyrics, but this is a cover of classic instrumental. Boss Martians also do a great cover of this.
Sorry Nicole, I'm a married man but, you will always have that Fender StratOcaster named after me.
she's super cute ain't she? holy mackrel.
Shayden
Drumer doing very "hard" job xD.
Sooo good thank you.
