Please could help a noob out? What is the pressure in the bulk tanks? Because the ones I’ve seen available are 200bar(2900psi?) and that seems way too high for a co2 paintball tank.
I want to run a large Co2 tank on remote line for my setup. I want to be able to fill them myself. Because the tanks are so large (2.5lb and possibly 5lb) I may need a special fill station to fill them. I know I need some sort of pumping device but what? also how to I fill thermo valve tanks?
They will be fine to use :) Once you need to refill them you can take them to the closest gas supply store or sometimes a sporting goods store will fill the tanks. Just give them a call before you go and they'll tell you if they fill Co2 :) -Dan
I have some leftover co2 tanks from last year that are still full that have sat the whole winter, will they be ok for use or should I empty them to refill and if so, how?
Hustle Paintball ok thanks, so basically it's wasted co2. I thought there would be a setup that'd be able to reuse it. I always put the bottles in the freezer not to have to purge them at all during refillment.
I have the ninja fill station on a 50lbs siphon tank. Pre-chilled tanks overnight in a -6 degree freezer combined with filling 2-3oz's and dumping I am only able to get about 8 oz in a 12 oz tank. Any advice?
Hey i gotta question , so i have a 12 ounce tank and a 20 pound tank with the 2nd fill station in the video . The 12 once is brand new only hade 1 full filling b4, so when i started filling it only went to 3.2 oz i purge . Added more went up to 3.8 purge again n went to 4oz n it wont go any higher ??? Theres still alot of co2 in my 20 lb tank . So what em i doing wrong ? Thanks
In order to fill CO2, the bottle has to get pretty cold... So you'll be filling, dumping, filling, dumping.. alot. That's another downside to CO2. -Russell
Your 20lb tank isn't a fill tank. Fill tanks have a tube that goes to the bottom - the 'gas' that comes out is from the bottom. It's actually liquid because of the pressure. You need to (VERY carefully!) turn it upside down to fill from it. Also, you need to make sure the 12oz is totally empty.
I have recently started filling CO2 bottles myself using a fill/dump station and 50lb CO2 tank. For my 20 oz bottles that have been chilled beforehand, I am only getting 4-5 oz from when its completely empty and then filling until sound stops. What else should I be doing to get the full amount in my bottles?
You need your 20oz bottle colder then the large one you are filling from. If it is warmer then the fill tank it will become pressurized and wont fill. You probably need to chill them longer.
I was just wondering do u need to zero out the digital gauge after you put the tank on it to get in the right amount or just subract the difference. thank you From Geno
What kind of scale are you using? When we try and do this with a fish scale it seems to lock the weight in and not keep going up as the air refills. I assume we have the wrong kind of scale?
+EastCoastAirsoft We use the Renegade digital fill scales. Affordable and works great. www.hustlepaintball.com/Renegade-Digital-Fill-Scale-20g-40KG-range - AJ
+Hustle Paintball Awesome thanks! I assume with this scale it's not going to give me the issues a fish scale does, like lock in the weight when I am in the middle of filling the bottle? If that is correct I will be picking one up today!
Well, in ALL technicality, they are called HP tanks because HP encompasses all high pressure gasses :) you could even argue that HPA is more correct than N2...but we won't get into that ;) Either way, these videos are here to help people learn about the wonderful sport of paintball!!! :D -Dan
Good video. The double valve stations are available from Chinese sellers for about $28.00 if you have the patience to wait a month BTW. Given the dynamics are similar, I was wondering if the process could be improved by following some of the same best practices for filling 1lb propane bottles from the larger tanks: 1) Pre chill the small tank in the freezer (also mentioned already in the threads below). 2) Invert the large tank when transferring so you are drawing the liquid instead of the gas. I'm guessing that this would eliminate the need to purge the small tank and thus not waste any CO2.
There are tubes inside the large co2 tanks that go into the bottom to suck up the co2 instead of the gas co2 and I'm pretty sure he purges the tanks to chill them automatically because the gas released chills the tanks therefor you can get a full fill
Chicken_dude1 You are absolutely correct -- we use siphon tanks so that the liquid is drawn up from the bottom. If you do not have a siphon tank, inverting the tank will work as well. Releasing the gas does a very good at chilling the tank in a pinch, but it is always better to chill the tanks beforehand so that you don't waste any CO2. - Ben
Just a dumb question - if I have a 9oz C02 tank I should expect to get 9oz of gas from a refill right? My last fill I got just 4 oz (difference in weight between empty bottle and filled), but the fill shop doesn't seem to understand this is a problem - or if it is, what they can do about it.
DKG Woodsball (Late response in case you still havent found a solution from anywhere else) 16 oz is 1 pound so a 20 pound tank should have 320oz in it; meaning it would fill a 20oz 16 times. If you want to fill all of your tanks at once, that means 1 full fill of each, (40 + 24 + 18 = 82) then you can get all of them filled just shy of 4 times (3.902 times to be exact)) Now for the 50 pound tank, that would have 800 oz, meaning it would fill a 20oz 40 times. Again, if you want all the tanks filled full at once, you would be able to fill them almost 10 times (9.756 times)
Can you use a propane tank like from lowes. I am thinking of trying paintball but I do not understand how to fill the tanks of co2 for the gun. Please Help me. Also thanks for the useful video! -Matthew
No propane! If you're having trouble understanding home filling - then I wouldn't recommend it; if done incorrectly it can be very dangerous. Just bring your tank to an industrial gas shop and they should be able to fill you up. :) - Chris
Because we get A LOT of requests on how to do this :/ We're well aware that HPA is better, hence the video on it, we use it, the industry prefers it, etc. We inform people - again, hence the "How to" videos. HPA is better, always will be. Also, no one calls it N2 anymore lol. It's just compressed air not nitrous oxide. We "waste time" educating. Without this video, you wouldn't of commented calling it "N2" and I wouldn't of corrected you. Everyone learns! Yayyy learning! :D -Russell
Most are these days actually, C02 is a physical product they have to buy, and it is rising in price, on the other hand compressed air can be made on spot with a compressor.
all fields by me use compressed air for their rentals... It's becoming cheaper than CO2 in the long run because you don't run the risk of constantly blowing out O-rings
That is true in some regards :) Tippmanns are made to run on Co2 and do very well on it. It really boils down to how much start up cash the field has IMO. -Dan
It is a quite hypocritical video considering how much you guys urge us to use N2 tanks. Why waste time making a video essentially saying people who use CO2 are okay even though it's just a terrible gas in general.
waht tywe of fill station i nee to go from a 5 lbs tank shred to 20oz tank shred
Please could help a noob out? What is the pressure in the bulk tanks? Because the ones I’ve seen available are 200bar(2900psi?) and that seems way too high for a co2 paintball tank.
What if the tank isn't fully empty are you supposed to purge it first all the way of the residual so you can weight it more accurately.
I have a double valve just got it. I'm a newbie. Tried filling today. I could only get 3oz in mY 20oz tanks. Any tips? 100lb tank
Yes, a HPA video would appreciated.
I want to run a large Co2 tank on remote line for my setup. I want to be able to fill them myself.

my field owner has always used HPA on his rentals and every field ive been too has as well...
Great! So we have been putting them in a refrigerator. Freezer is ok?
Thanks for the video. I just got the second fill setup and was having issues filling it. Just have to purge it cold!
I wonder if I’m not purging enough, I still can’t fill more than 50% and getting frustrated.
They will be fine to use :) Once you need to refill them you can take them to the closest gas supply store or sometimes a sporting goods store will fill the tanks. Just give them a call before you go and they'll tell you if they fill Co2 :)
-Dan
You should make a video in how to keep paintballs when it is cold out. (I live in Colorado)
I have some leftover co2 tanks from last year that are still full that have sat the whole winter, will they be ok for use or should I empty them to refill and if so, how?
on the first station, where are you purging the co2 into? or just out the door as well?
A line that purges into a box that is taped up.
Hustle Paintball ok thanks, so basically it's wasted co2. I thought there would be a setup that'd be able to reuse it. I always put the bottles in the freezer not to have to purge them at all during refillment.
cafeboni That is definitely the most efficient way to do it :)
-Dan

what is the name of the scale and set up u have again?
All of the local fields in my area use hpa
I went a sporting goods store and full up my 9 oz and few minutes later the burst dic went of in the store and burn a big part of my hand
Do you measure this in regular or fluid ounces?
they still make that thing?
What style carbon dioxide tank are you using
Can I fill it up using an air compressor that is used to power nail guns
+OgN Stealthy No. You need a big boy compressor. It needs to fill 3k+ psi.
Usually fields and proshops have them.
-Russell
Can I play paintball with a co2 powered marker if I don't have a compressor?
The Manual has instructions on how to change the BPS.
That is correct! We always recommend a company called DOT in Denver, Colorado :) They're awesome!
-Dan
How do you hydro tanks?
They actually made a video about it a while ago. Search it as "How to Fill a Paintball Compressed Air Tank (N2/HPA) from a Scuba Tank"
Hope it helps.

Do one for HPA!

Yet another reason to dump CO2 and go HPA
what size are the gray tanks of co2
50 lb tanks you can get them from a welding shop refilled for about $30 each
Hello!!!!can I ask how many kg i can fill my co2 tunk that is 9 oz????
9 oz is 0.255146 kg. Google is your friend :D
-Dan
How many fills could I get off of a 20 pound tank or a 50 pound? We have (2) 20oz, (2) 12oz and (2) 9oz
simple math
DKG Woodsball (Late response in case you still havent found a solution from anywhere else) 16 oz is 1 pound so a 20 pound tank should have 320oz in it; meaning it would fill a 20oz 16 times. does the tank weigh a total of 20 oz. or do you minus the weight of the tank when filling?
the tare weight should be on the tank.
What is the model of the Ninja Co2 filler?
Ninja doesn't manufacture co2 products or co2 itself lol
Can you use a propane tank like from lowes. I am thinking of trying paintball but I do not understand how to fill the tanks of co2 for the gun. Please Help me. Also thanks for the useful video!

Hustle Paintball
What's the name and the cost.... for the first ninja fill station that you used????
G. Moza That one is called a Ninja M10 Fill Station. At the moment, they retail for $60. Let me know if you have any other questions! - Ben
These tanks are rated more on capacity than a pressure rating. The tank is made to hold a specific amount of the liquid CO2. - Jeff

make vid on filling HPA
Where can I buy c02 tanks in the k
Uk*
+Relinquished I'm not sure to be honest.. We ship to the UK! Other than that - to buy there? Eh, Google it haha
-Russell
Do a video on how to install the tipx first strike kit please :)
all fields by me use compressed air for their rentals... It's becoming cheaper than CO2 in the long run because you don't run the risk of constantly blowing out O-rings
Help me learn this!
will this work with hpa too?
completely different
@@barreltagpaintball6178 oh man this comment section is 3 years old anyway you can tell me how to do an HPA tank do I need to purchase something
Truly appreciated!!
Thank you bro going to bring me alot of money 💰
That is true in some regards :) Tippmanns are made to run on Co2 and do very well on it. It really boils down to how much start up cash the field has IMO.
-Dan
Did anyone go to ll6 this past weekend? :D wishing i went but i was busy and its an hour away
Hopefully soon!
-Dan
Jay says he was gonna purge that tank A couple seconds before that cut. 2:10. We grabbed another tank at 2:21 - Erik
You should make a video to use a compressor to fill up a air compressed tank
how do you not need a co2 tank
You can use HPA instead :)
-Dan
Why is the tank in the background insanely cold at 2:21?
jacobcwz it's like icd
jacobcwz ice*
That's not the case everywhere.
You can't hydro a tank. You have to take it to a certified hydro location, aka a scuba shop, paintball shop (maybe) or local fire department (maybe)
That is what he did when he said he was going to "Tare" out the tank. That means to zero out the weight on the scale.
Just keep them in your car inside a cooler :) you could even throw a few heater packs in there too.
-Dan
Are you aware the your hat is on crooked?
Ty
Not everybody has a choice. Some people live in areas where HPA is not available.
I'm fairly certain we have! :D
-Dan
Use a dip tube 50lb bottle, liquid filling; no gas, no need to chill.
thank you
Indeed it is! :D
-Dan
I'll suggest it :)
-Dan
C3 FTW :) - Jeff
Google their manual. It's just a few clicks away.
-Russell
Mine did!!!
Yeah, I'll just go to my fill station.. thanks?
my field has hpa rentals, its cheaper in the long run
Here's one don't use co2 in the end it's bad for your marker
Yeah. OK bro.
yea tell every field owner to switch to HPA for rentals! yay... lets see how many will listen.
That's what happens when you vent them too fast! :)
-Dan
Well in all technicality, they are still called N2 tanks because they can hold N2 haha. Also I was too lazy to type HPA, shit happens.
^^ this ^^ this ^^ this
-Dan
all fields by you does not equate all field across the globe.
We did not :(
-Dan
That is what happens when the tank is over-filled! :( you're lucky you weren't injured even worse! :(
-Dan
Nope lol.
-Dan
People still use CO2??
It is a quite hypocritical video considering how much you guys urge us to use N2 tanks. Why waste time making a video essentially saying people who use CO2 are okay even though it's just a terrible gas in general.

Stop using CO2 switch to HPA
what kind of refill adapter is that one called?
