What a great night riding scene. Whenever I go, it is super solo, and super quiet. All noises sound creepier!!! Fair play for using just the handlebar light alone.
That’s the Jafakids MTB academy. We’re out there every Wednesday with between 60 and 100 kids. They’re a handful, but the future of MTB is looking bright! (Pun intended 😉)
Wow I never know how popular night riding was in Wood hills mountain bike park. One of these days must get myself some lights together and get out there and do some night riding. It’s been years for me back doing day and night thriller in Taupo . Looking forward to watching your next video mate take care
So for the same price as the Magicshine MJ906S you can have 2 of those on your handlebars and one on the helmet. Something to think about as its totally portable and uses easy to find 18650 batteries. On a side note you're pretty brave running a single light on your bars instead of you helmet 😉
Fine line between bravery and stupidity. I prefer a helmet mount but this light didn't come with one. I think you can get one though. The light is very small and easy to use.
First time I took a jump at night with only handle bar lights, front wheel went up and my entire world went black. I now run MS 3500 on the bars and 1500 on the helmet. Perfect combo.
That 4500 is daylight time, but the 1200 could be seen to have a difference when you turned it off and on with the 4500 running. Price for the 1200 is reasonable also

Great seeing so many people out there at night , I was surprised how many there were. Thanks for the review
I was surprised at the numbers also. Must do it more often.

Thanks for your video friend! And night riding is so so cool!

I loved the Taupo and Rotorua day night races apart from the temperature. Maybe due a come back.
Your the man Lance!
Back in my day......... 12v lead Acid batt in backpack , 12v halogen on helmet. Really noticed the weight of that heavy batt . 🙂
Yes I remember having a motor bike battery in my back pack.

@@defyent I think a helmet light is good for spotting the landing.
@@bestdayevermtb2 I need all the help I can get for spotting the landing, I should try wearing a light during the day as well.
We use 700 lumen head torch’s 🔦 at skyline Friday night rides and it’s good enough, but it’s not a spotlight more of a flood light with a wide beam.
It is amazing what you can ride with especially if you know the tracks well. The lights we used 15 years ago were pretty weak but we made it work.
KTM Guy. Nice.

I think I will use the 4500 if I go night riding but the 1200 I will use alot more. Used it yesterday doing some building work. Awesome torch.
Can I use Fenix BC21R for night rollerski and riding, I fixed it on my helmet but I don't know if it is stable and durable?

What kind of watch are you wearing there Lance?
I don't know. My old one broke so my wife gave me one of her old ones. It has lots of buttons but I don't know what they do.
